James: When will the amp stacking kit and car dash kit be available for the X1?

Just got my X1 yesterday. So far so great.

But X1 is not support unicode font (Too bad for me 'cause I have kind of so much Vietnamese songs with unicode tags in my library)

Hopefully this will be fix in the next firmware upgrade :)

Cheers.

Got my X1 last evening and spent about six hours trying to format my micro sd card and load music. It was driving me CRAZY! At 2:30am I called it quits and went to bed. Today I went and bought a new micro sd card(a Sandisk) and it was a breeze to drag and drop!!

So, beware the cheap **** sd cards! I should have known better. I am glad that I read here somewhere that the performance of the X1 is dependant on the quality of the sd card, very true!

Anyway, now that I have some music loaded I am quite impressed with the sound quality. I have only been listening for about an hour now and I need to learn how to operate this thing properly.

Initially I will say that the bass impact is very good for a portable player.

Liking it so far.

From your post I deduce that ProAudioHome to be the one having customs related problems while Headphonezone has not made any orders on FiiO DAPs yet.

It would be awesome if only FiiO could tie-up with some one like Flipkart or Amazon to sell their products here in India. This is 'cos ProAudioHome keeps its prices exorbitantly high even for Indian standards. For example FiiO X3 will cost me Indian Rupees 17,150 (that is roughly 279 US$) from them whereas across the world the same DAP is being sold for less than 200 US$ (In some cases less than170 US$).

Please, Mr James get a better reseller (with competitive pricing) to sell your products in India (It's a request smily_headphones1.gif )

It would nice if the next firmware upgrade can include the display of bit rate of the music currently playing. (Example: 320Kbps MP3, 192Kbps AAC, 1411Kbps PCM WAV).

Edit: Currently there is only the format of the music displayed, and beside would be the sampling rate. (WAV 44.1KHz/16 Bits)

Maybe can add in for the new update to display as (WAV 1411Kbps PCM 44.1KHz/16 Bits) or (MP3 320Kbps 44.1KHz/ 16 Bits) Somewhere along that line.

Just a suggestion.

@JamesFiiO

The above post by fellow indian should be taken seriously.

There is a market but proaudiohome is very expensive selling even x3 at close to 300$ which is pure madness.

Its requested that fiio directly tie up with amazon.in
snapdeal.com

or
flipkart.com

to offer these to indian consumers.

Due to huge cost diff we have to import from hong kong and as a result many people don't even bother getting these due to custom related fears.

I have made these points before too but to no avail.

Cheers, mate smily_headphones1.gif

Few days back received a reply for my query on the availability of X1 from Headphonezone, HPZ custmoer care person informed me that they will stock FiiO X1 by second week of this month with an expected price of 7000 Bucks. Hate to go through MP4Nation in the fear of being caught at customs. Hope somehow we get the rightful price for these awesome products from better avenues than what we have right now (without having to shell out nearly 2/3rd of extra cash).

I think the chances of being caught by customs is not much but yeah its there.

My brother ordered from mp4 at 110$,roughly 6600 so at 7000 its near same.

I just hate pro audio home, they are just duping us.No wonder nobody sees this gear in india.

Lynx chandigarh was actually the best audio store in india, got closed due to some issues.

that is why Apple do not want to support Micro SD card in iPod and iPhone, iPad.

yes, but please understand that India Gov. charge very expensive Custom duty . and it is not our right to control the retail price, all we can do is suggest them but not ask them.

Well, russian resellers are not much better. There are two of them listed at fiio.com.cn, one seem to have X1 in stock but "Price is not specified", whatever that means. Second offers X1 for ridiculous $180, plus I have to pay for shipping, about 30-40 bucks more. And for these money I can buy X3 somewhere else, where resellers are not crazy. Yes, I have to wait for it to ship (and now I am waiting for my X1 from mp4nation), but maaan... Two times the price is way too much.
