You need to format them in FAT32 with tools as GuiFormat...

I recently bought a 128 microsd to use with my iBasso DX50 and i replaced my 64 GB card, but the 64 GB card was not recognized from X1 and i had to format in FAT32 the card reinstalling after all my music!

Yes it takes ages to copy that much over, I had a similar problem with my Ipod Classic which is part of the reason why I gave up on it. At least with an SD card it is easier to copy the files with Drag and drop rather than using Itunes which take even longer.

my x-1 wouldn't take either one of my Sandisk 64gb cards. But I was able to use a 32gb & a 128gb

I already read that they are working on support for SDXC card, but i would like to have more readable colors for Graphics UI: at the moment, i find quite difficult to read text and icons because white text on "pastel color" background is quite confusing!

This problem can be simply solved providing a Black Theme with white text/icons or allowing to select black or white text/icon color...

I'm using this 64GB microSD card currently on my X1, be sure to format using the X1 formatting feature and you'll be fine.

I never used my iPod Classic with original firmware for this reason: i installed on it RockBox from the first day!

This is something that really annoyed me about the Cowon J3, no on device card formatting. But the Fiio devices have that, which makes using cards above 32GB a breeze. Check out the Samsung Evo cards on Amazon. They're pretty cheap and offer faster speeds than the likes of Sandisk at the same price point of $30 for a 64Gb

You can also format the sd card from the X1, but i prefer to use GuiFormat because i usually copy my music on the card from my pc sd slot as it is faster then connecting the X1...

Got a FiiO crystal ball, Relic? Do you even have an X1?

Um - you realise doing this, all you're doing is using the X1 as a USB adaptor for your microSD card.  You'd be better simply getting a USB thumb drive - as essentially it's doing the same thing ......

Um - You DID read my first sentence, right? Do you have an X1?

I didn't know you could 'RockBox' an iPod Classic, I've done it to a Sansa Clip.

Will have to look into it. Cheers for the info.

I had been using the usb connection with my iPhone 5S for months, before I began using just the bluetooth connection. This was just a test, and it did serve to charge my X1...

Hey,

I don't have a crystal ball but I'm an informed consumer and I've been following FiiO's DAP design since before (2yrs) they released the X3. I'm only stating that based on their design choices and target feature set for the X1 I'm surprised that it worked as a usb transport. If it could work with FLAC in the future that would be great. I don't have an X1 because I have no need for one right now but that doesn't mean I can't express my surprise at something that wasn't intended to work in the initial design.

Cheers

Edit: I'm curious to know what happens if you tried to play an ALAC file with the X1 to your head units USB in. Given that most manufacturers will cater to an iDevice perhaps it will recognize the ALAC format.

Yep - I did read it.  I was just making sure you knew exactly what you were doing with it.  Sometimes people don't, so it's a good thing to ask first. My X1 should be here today, but I have had an X5 for months, I'm pretty familiar with Fiios set-up, and understood what you were doing.  I guess I was wondering why - as it didn't make a lot of sense to me ......

I got mine.  I love it.  I haven't compared it side by side to my X3 yet though.

Mine just arrived.  Impressions and review will follow in due course.
