Does that link work for you? I tried it when I got the X11 and nothing happened. frown.gif

Thought it hadn't been finished or something.

Yeah, it works. If you're on an iPad or such it won't download the .rar file when you click the X1 manual link. You need to be on a laptop or desktop computer (OSX or Windows). Judging by your reply stating 'X11' it seems that you are on an iOS device that wants to incessantly correct X1 to X11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my guess.

The price for X1 looks attractive.
Currently I'm using iPod classic with ibasso heron P3+. I'm considering to get a X1 to replace my player and amp, using Westone 3. Don't have the plan to change my IEM.
Anybody tested this combination? Please give me some advice.

Thanks in advance.

koshinki

I think everyone should wait for sony a10/17.

But even my own brother gave middle finger to my advice and ordered x1 anyway,lol.

My main issue will be loss of portability in gym or while running.But x1 does seem to be an amazingly good package for 110$

IMO, i think Sony new daps will be hard pressed competing in the audiophile community given Fiio X1 coming in earlier, perhaps better sounding and significantly less pricey.

Sony will have to depend on consumers who still hold regard for the Sony brand and to some extent, buying nostalgia more than quality sound.

I could be wrong, however, given's Sony dap track record since X1060 in 2007, their dap SQ has not grown much, more of different tonality.

Finally got the uSD for my X1 today! The difference in SQ to my Sony NWZ-E454 is like night and day (managed to gift away the old DAP). Whilst I'll admit it's a bit of a dust/fingerprint magnet, I'm liking it already and the chunkiness of the casing and switch action reminds me of the Minidisc days (sniff).

Can't wait for the headphones to come in and get the new combo burnt in. Hope everyone else is enjoying their X1s! :basshead: :D

just curious if anybody had partnered their lovely x1 with an amp?

out of interest looking for opinions on jds amps and headstage arrows if at all possible

I have read a few comments with pairing to an smsl amp - which seem favourable

GREAT.

My Fiio X1 order was cancelled by Amazon, because the current Item is not deliverable. I mean, what?

According to this -> http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00NS3MRKC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can still buy it. Not sure whats going on, but it pisses me off a bit.

Edit:

Well I bought it from the Fiio-Shop.de now. Yeah I actually had to pay 6€ more for shipping costs, instead of the 89,99€ without shipping costs by Amazon... But oh well. Nevermind, I guess. Still not happy with that... And a bit disappointed by that.

Agreed with this. Sony quality above average. But it is too pricey sometimes. And people who choose Sony, maybe more crazy the brand then the sound quality.

Agreed with u guys.
I had e-474 walkman 8 gb for 140$ and it sounded a tad worse than clip+ with no micro sd and no ability to play lossless file.

So am happy for u @locksbury

As for @truthless,why don't u go for mp4nation.com for free shipping.

@koshinki

100 pc true brother,truth has been spoken.People are not stupid now,the f series were colosally over rated with anemic battery life even without putting any amp.Sure it has bells and whistles of android but its wasted due jo **** processor and ram.

But if sony can get it right this time(which is damn difficult looking at size of device)then it will give tough fight to x5 due to 300$ with 64 gb attractive price plus having bluetooth,nfc,nc etc.

Lets hope fellas.

It can also be found in the player, too! Scroll to "System Settings" on the Home screen, next to "About X1". There is the quick start guide inside there.

I purchased the FiiO X1 to replace my 5 year old, 4GB trusty Sony NWZ-E436F. Yes, I agree the FiiO X1 is a significant upgrade if both players are playing music with the EQ set to off. However, I do have custom EQ settings on my old Sony and my music sounds decently good. I feel that my old Sony NWZ-E436F DAP serves a average tasting dish, with huge amounts of artificial flavorings and seasonings to make the food taste good. FiiO X1 serves good natural tasting dishes, while having the option to add a little spice to make it better.

Just had to use food as an analogy... :)

@Byfrost

Yes eq is one very strong point in walkmans,though only 5 band but it works wonders.

My personal favourite wass clear bass with gr07 pairing.

Will u comment on eq of x1,mainly on bass boost?
