X1 has the BEST price/performance ratio and also flexibility.  It's definitely an upgrade to all other "mp3" players in sub $100 price range, it has a fantastic user interface with a scrolling wheel, it has LO output to expose its dac to external amp, you can use headphones with in-line remote to control the playback, you can use it with 128GB micro-SD, and so on...  I don't take my X5 when on the go, but X1 goes with me everywhere ;)

But you have to be realistic when comparing sound quality because everything scales up/down with a price due to a better components.  Regarding Cayin N6 dap, I wouldn't hold my breath for an affordable pricing.  Just my opinion which could turn out to be wrong...

I get my tour X1 in 10 days, we'll have to see/hear what all the talk is all about. I probably will not buy this as I have the X3 and the X5 already.

Do you guys think the HO on the X1 will be able to get the most out of the akg k240 mkii? I have both on the way as my baby steps into better audio biggrin.gif

Just ordered from mp4nation with fedex shipping... 128gb micro sd coming from the Bay... I guess my 6 year old Zune 30 is going into a drawer, or maybe in the classifieds. It still works great, everyday, but it's a dinosaur. Well, so am I, but it's time to learn a few new tricks and to see if my ie80s can sound any better.

Got my x1 today and I love it so far! This thing can get LOUD. I'd be interested to see if it can handle even more power hungry headphones.

Do you happen to have headphones in the 45-65 Ohm range?

What have you used it with so far?
No just my 32 ohm kam hp1 and 16 ohm Panasonic earbuds. That is why I'm curious. I have it at 50% volume or less comfortably.

I used VSonic GR07s and those are 50ohms - no problem driving them at all.

Hi guys, just a question...does the line out feature actually bypass the amp and increase the battery life or does it just output signal at line level (near max volume)?
