Effect audio has nice colored bands

Keep in mind, apparently the HS6 can even hold the Chord Hugo, which while I've never personally seen one, I'm pretty sure is big for a portable.

I like X1 GUI so much, I've even created a small lame video to show it.
Hope we'll see this GUI for X5 smily_headphones1.gif

I see....so the price of the kit will be less to HS6 due to X1 being small (HxWxD) then. wink.gif angled 3.5mm interconnects are most welcone than bulky straights.....

With the HS6 and it's included interconnect, the interconnect sells for $1 less separately the last I checked. So it all probably depends on how Fiio handles that for the X1.

will be the same as HS6 cause the cost is from the cable but not the plastic frame.

Ok.....I once (initially) quoted to include microSD cards with discounts along with the X1 sales,if you recall, but now will you fulfill our request by including the X1 stacking kit along with the X1s? Just that kit. OR atleast the frame and bands themselves as we already have more enough interconnects (fm FiiO amps and customs) and unused spacers.....

And its easy to get msd cards cheap with higher capacity presently and perhaps everyone already have it handy (phones, daps etc) but the kit is a must to be shipped with the unit....imo,considering the fact its available thru only FiiO...If the kits are readily available by launch of X1s,they can also be included with the price you gonna set...
ONLY if possible and works out for you else we'll wait. biggrin.gif

Hey guys , I just received the X1 this afternoon, big thanks to the FiiO team in providing a sample version of the X1 as part of the world tour. After having spent 3 hours with it, here are my first impressions :

The unboxing : it came in a little white padded box similar to the size of a special 2CD album case, the X1 was fitted in the black silicone case, below the player itself you have a little flat box with the user guide and 2 screen protectors (a third one is already applied on the player), on the right side you get a rectangle box with a USB to Micro USB cable. Don't forget that it's just a review sample, the retail version will comes with a couple of accesories such as arm band, stickers, extra case, extra cables etc.

The X1 : small enough to hold comfortably in one hand (size of a deck of cards : credits to twister 6), when switched on there's a welcome screen on a white background, followed by the language selection then got into the idle screen, it was on the grey theme by default with a fully charged battery, when navigating for the first time, I can see improvements comparing to the X5 but the screen is a real scaled down version, I noticed the very low contrast that makes the screen look '' washed out '', things get better when switching to another theme and I got the best contrast with the orange one. The build quality is like a tank with a very premium feel, but there's an issue with the chrome buttons, when looking closer you can notice some '' stains and micro dents'' .....Anyway that's a pre-production unit, I can't expect premium quality control for the moment,  I hope that FiiO will review this for the final retail version. The scroll wheel is better than the one on the international X5, but I prefer the one on the japanese edition of the X5 http://www.oyaide.com/fiio/x5.html which seems to be more rugged and less proned to scratches and dents.

The sound : I inserted a 32 GB class 10 micro SD filled with a dozen of Wav and Hi - Res albums from 16/44 to 24/192, when listening to the first track (Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd), I did have to raise the default volume 33 to 60 to get the perfect volume level on my Sony MDR XB30EX which impedance is 16 ohms, at first it sounded very thick with a slightly bassy signature (I was using a bassy iem  ), when switched to my Shure SE425 , the sound got more details, clarity and neutrality. The sound signature is pretty similar to my AK100 out of the box but with less details, I think it requires some burn in to shine. I haven't yet audition the X1 with my cans  (Sony 7520 and Beyerdynamic T5p) and portable amplifiers (FiiO E17 and ADLX1), you'll get my full review including a video review sooner. Cheers :beerchug:

Well, warning about huge volume, when using line out is a good example of Fiio's care about users, but show it always after turning on, is a little bit annoying. Can it be turned off? Like "OK, I got it, and I want to got earache" option?

The AKs have that too, it's only normal

AKs should have it, gunfire is loud ad hell
post #1694 of 7691

I assume its an Android protocol, as all my Android devices give that warning once you hit a certain volume.
