surely not!

i am not a big fan of cases in everyday use, and definitely not of stickers. gadgets should have a right to be ageing.

how else could i justify to get new ones from time to time? ;)

So the X1 can't act as a DAC for a computer? Was hoping to have that function.

Not at this price. That's one of the ways they're getting it down to the $100 price point.

If they did, I'd worry it'd harm X3 sales, if not murder them.

Also they made the X1 much smaller, so likely the added parts that can allow USB DAC function might not even fit on the board.

Actually, the DAC function in the X3 is software-based; this was added in the firmware and a special USB driver for your PC/Mac earlier on without any hardware revisions. Same goes for the X5 (but this was done during product launch rather than an update).

Point being is that its overall structure is not strong enough (especially the CPU?) to support such software usage rather than missing any special parts that will almost immediately give it USB DAC functionality.

Important Question wink.gif
Which micro Sd card is to prefer?
SanDisk or Samsung or is it unimportant? And what should be the speed of the microsd-card that it will give the best sound?

I personally prefer SanDisk, but it really doesn't matter. Speed-wise, it too shouldn't matter if you have redbook audio or below this.

I saw that the FiiO X1 will be released next month. Does it include a WW release? I'm mainly talking about Germany :D.

I'm pretty sure, we will get at last, as usual. :triportsad:

Looking forward to get in Germany a X1 too.
