Wish there was a black version... Or a silver. The white is fine, but I want something a bit more understated :/
The DX90 has 9 hours of battery life and the DX50 has far more battery life, but the SQ is exceedingly better on the DX90. I hope iBasso will have a firmware update that will extend the battery life for the DX90.
Did I miss something here, or was this statement made purely out of speculation?
Colorful X1. Pretty good. Hmm but yeah think white will be more on demands.
Will getting the white too.....
The DX50 and the X1 have better battery life, but they are mostly neutral (very slight bass tilt and all based on reviews and speculation). If the DX90 is anything like the DX100, there's a very good chance that the DX90 will be more neutral than the X1 and DX50. I hope there's going to be awesome firmware for the DX90.
The target MSRP is $100. That's more than twice the cost of a clip.
This is in the first page - target price is $100.
Several pages have been devoted to this but I don't expect you to find them (just please do NOT get into reviving the debate that went on in there), but Fiio said they would make it "neutral" but with some kind of bass bump. A lot of the debate went into "what kind of definition of neutral is that?!" and "why the heck would they want to do that?!"
To answer both (and again please people don't rehash that section of this thread) they would make it neutral then engineer a little bass boost. Fiio supposes it's to make it sound more "fun." I won't elaborate on my take on that anymore as it might spark a new slew of discussion around it and everyone's given enough of their 2cents on this we might as well encash it, so you might want to use the search function if you want to read those. Just search "netural" and "bass" or something in this thread.
For $100, you're getting what looks to be somewhere around the size of an ipod nano 3g. I'm fairly sure there is an increase in the quality of the file type, altho I think its not supposed to support DSD. The clip outputs at roughly 15mW to 16 ohm, which I think the X1 is 100mW to either 16 or 32 ohm, I can't remember which. There is also the colors, which Clip has too, but from the preliminary design I think should be better looking with the X1. The scroll wheel is a nice touch too, assuming it works as intended. I have no clue if its true, but I think I remember reading that on the X3 and X5 a free case is included with the player, which is a rather nice touch, one that many companies don't do.
I'm sure I'm missing other important features, but for $100, this seems like alot of "bang for your buck." I'd be interested to see, when it comes out, how it measures up against the iBasso DX50 as far as a straight player is concerned.
Yep, I know :) Was just trying to make a point about how good of a product this is appears to be so far, and was doing it on a tablet, so was easier just to go from memory.
