I think you're in the wrong thread. Audiophile DAPs are a niche market (even the cheaper ones) and the manufacturers don't have the funds to make different versions. This is not a plastic sansa where you can make thousands of colorful plastic housings coz first, it's not going to be plastic and second, Fiio is not that kind of company and even if their sells are good I don't think they will be matching the commercial sandisk and apple products in sales any time soon, though hopefully they'll do it in the near future.
And bluetooth, NFC and Wifi, dab radio - you surely are in the wrong thread.

an audiophile DAP for $100? I'd rather say it's for mass music lovers... a real audiophile would be ashamed to buy it

IMHO FiiO should do something marketing like with the X1 to win some new customers, but not necessarily the ones eager to buy the X3 or X5.

Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi are all sorts of unnecessary features, I think we all want a good SQ from X1 not all those mentioned feature as it will be just for our music pleasure... That's my though hehe

X1A definitely for me. I greatly prefer that form factor and screen shape. I don't like narrower screens as they tend to show less horizontal information on the screen. For example on the X3 I couldn't see the whole song name and had to wait for the song name to automatically scroll itself into view. Anyway they both look absolutely gorgeous. Love the wheel!

Nah, they're already doing their magic. Hi-res support, 100mW output power, line-out, great file support. No one really cares about 2-4 GB of internal memory anyway and there are already products for the people who want bluetooth, wifi, radio etc. and this is usually something you don't want cramped in a very small DAP together with the hi-fi stuff. I also remember your complaints about the x5 and I really think you are really looking for an ipod or sth coz Fiio is not the company that has many millions at disposal for the development of their projects like the big companies do.

I could almost allow myself to be abused by saying that I wouldn't be adverse to the concept of wifi/streaming in a device like the X5.
 
But that just doesn't make sense to me at all in the X1 - we want to keep the size down, and keep the price down, and get the SQ as good as we can get it within those parameters. Doesn't matter anyway (it's not going to happen).

Well, my point exactly - it's not going to happen. And anyway I want to hear anyone who's complaining about X1's features give me an example of another DAP that costs 100 bucks and supports hi-res files, has a wide range of file support (not an apple device in a hundred years

), has a separate amp section and supports memory cards - add to that hardware buttons for everything. I'll tell which device - there isn't anything like it and that's the only marketing they need.

maybe WM8740, and E11/E11K will good for it caz the output power of X1 is not as high as X3 and E11/E11K.
