I use the X3, I have zero issue whatsoever with the cable being plugged in at the top.

Because you probably don't walk with it, it's when you are in motion with a relatively heavy cable (Quality one).

Try to walk long time with different sort of clothes.

On my first photo, if you don't catch the cable, it sometimes move in front of the screen when you walk.

I walk my dog roughly an hour a walk using the X3.

We probably don't have the same morphology.

If the standard IEM cable is enough for you it's probably because you are not as tall as me.

The top jack plug position stress a lot my expensive cable and connector.

yes, embarrasing

As a person who uses the Grado PS1000 as his portable headphones, i have to say that i never experienced this as a problem, and most certainly not 'embarrassing'

You must catch it to avoid pulling... annoying

No pulling, no problem.

Try to be pragmatic.

You don't design a tiny little low power DAP for huge headphones listeners ? yes ?

If the jack is on the top of a so little thing... the cable pulls (and it shortens it), so you must take it firmly in your hand.

If the jack is on the side of a so little thing... you can't take it firmly in your hand... only with two fingers... and it pulls on the side, with two fingers prehension, it rotates.

Perfect :

- Design

- UI

- Buttons

- JACK

Sony engineers at their best... you look, you learn.

Perfection is an illusion, a concept that has no true place in reality

Yes, bettering ourselves, designs, etc is a wonderful thing, but I've never felt perfection exists
