Why not ask Sennheiser to make HD600 to be at $100? I really love the sound quality of it. It would be nice if they can make it $100.

^
ehhh what if i tell ya' that those dated and dusty HD600s sound about right for $100 these days. LMAO
wink.gif

Now if they can make the Senni HD800 for $100 now we are talking!!!

But with Senni's price protection good luck with that....

Wishful thinking meng.

dude is it all right??
i mean are u in shock or something??

football world cup maybe:tongue_smile:

on other note,i understand what u did there

Haha xD no, I don't watch WorldCup but I am getting sick of people around me talking about it and complaining how one should have played in order to score. It's their way of communication but I am not a fan of it or maybe I am just not a fan of football. (Don't murder me for that please)

But really, FiiO products are IMO, bang for bucks. Hugely! I don't see the need of dropping their price yet, remaining at the same performance. You may say the HD600 is outdated but IMO, no headphones gets outdated in terms of sound. I mean, there are people hunting for AKG K1000, Sennheiser HE90, AKG K501, I also still see people complimenting how good the HE-400 sound and the HD600 are no exception. They won't become "bad headphone" after several years even with newer headphones being released. That's one good thing about audio IMO

If I have $100 and have to use it to build a DAP on par with FiiO or try to be better, great challenge, doubt I can do it as well.

offtopic but just saw ur signature.

are ie800 worth their price tag??

IE800 are amazing. I gushed and totally geeked out about them on the IE800 thread. ROFL.
biggrin.gif

That being said I don't think they're worth $1000 in sound. I think they offer about $750~$800 in sound. They are significantly better than the typical SE535/W4R/UE900 line up.

If you can have headphones instead of IEMs, than the Sig Pro is technically superior to the IE800, not a huge margin but still a hefty margin of quality. I only bought the IE800 because my office setting changed and suddenly became a headphone-free enviornment, plus the price of the IE800 has crashed down a lot. I needed something quieter and the IE800 serves that purpose well. It offers an almost summit-fi type of sound in a small tiny package. I use it with the DX90 as it seems to pair better than with the X5.

and thats my point really because india has just one dealer,so its his price only.
if there was a fiio warehouse in india maybe more dealers would sell it according to different prices.

i mean can u believe an import from mp4 nation.com is cheaper than buying from that dealer in india,,,lol??yup thats true, the guy is currently selling the x3 for 270$ when from hongkong i can import it at 200$ flat(free delivery).

Nothing surprising. That's the case for most international countries. In Malaysia there are many headphone/audiophile shops including FiiO retailers yet the price is still cheaper to import overseas. And yes we have duty/tax to import audio stuffs as well.

i am wondering how the DAC on the X1 is compared to the Ipod's Wolfson DAC?

As a whole the amp would matter more. The iPod has an integrated DAC-HPamp chip with much smaller capacitors (I'm not even sure if those are power capacitors), while the X1 uses a dedicated DAC that allows for using an output stage and more importantly an amplification stage with more power, current and capacitance. So basically if the X1's DAC is "better" than the iPod's, it's because it allows for the entire circuit to be such.

Pricing of these products different from countries actually depends on;
1) Taxes
2) Environment
3) Living Standard

Brunei food and almost everything is extremely cheaper. You just need to spend BND 1 to the max of BND 5 for a meal unless you go for luxury and hotel-like restaurant. Petrol feels are cheap too but the salary in comparison to other countries are fairly low. Little to no taxes but things comes in extremely slow.

If i'm not mistaken you all get free land as well. Your country is relatively rich but all hogged by your sultan. Yes your cost of living is low, but how are the prices of headphones in your country?
Headphone/audio prices are more affordable in Japan and US compared to elsewhere.

Free houses for Bruneian only, I am not xD Free school, free oversea uni [include living cost] if you can really study but then again and the those houses are dang big @.@ not exactly free but you have to pay a monthly fee of "rental" which is extremely low [lower than any of my headphones except for a few of course].

Errrr no. Headphones are priceless here xD There's no dedicated audio store here.

we have duty too at 33% of the cost so i can never order from amazon.com(usa)
but mp4nation and lmue send their packages by downgrading the order price so we don't generally have to pay anything.

the problem comes when u have to send the stuff back for warranty,,then u need to pay from ur pocket

If I would have bought any Fiio product where I live (Israel), I would have to pay almost twice as much compared to its price on MP4NATION. We have a single Fiio retailer that sets the prices as high as he pleases and when he's asked to explain the difference in pricing between the local store and the prices from international retailers, he said that the import taxes are killing him. Every retailer in Israel is using the import taxes as an excuse to raise product cost and no costumer is questioning this excuse cause our government is known for its greed. What people here don't know is that the import taxes are not that high that the costumers will have to pay twice as much for the products. The real reason for the high prices is that the retailer makes a 500% profit on anything he sells. I'll be damned if a single Fiio product was sold in Israel by a local retailer. Most of the time, people that buy headphone amps and audiophile DAPs know where to got them for a fair price because from the start they cost more than an average consumer product.
