Thanks for your replies and help

I am getting a little confused now. Its hard to part with money without the ability to audition. I do like the idea of a desktop amp, purely as I do not have to recharge. Does anyone know where I can audition on UK from York. I am willing to travel

Thanks

Fiio E10 is a desktop Dac/Amp.

Hi all,

I feel like I am near the same situation as Trancejunkie. I am looking to upgrade my listening experience from my Beyerdynamic COP's (have more hours on these then I can think of) and am looking at getting the dt770 80 or 250ohm depending on what I can find on a deal. Would the E10 be the best amp/dac for Drum N Bass and similar genre's?

On a side note I really love the COP's sound. They sounded pretty bad when I first got them but after listening to them for around 6-12 hours a day for the last 4 or 5 months these headphones sound amazing to me with the music I mostly listen to. I really am just looking to see what out there and upgrading my experience. Most the music I have I try to get the highest quality source I can so usually means I buy their cd's or shop around online and see what is the highest quality file format they have for sale online.

As for current sources I haven't bought a dac/amp yet since from reading around it doesn't seem like the COP's need them and my TEAC CR-H500NT is good enough for right now.

I apologize if it seems like i'm thread jacking but trying not to create another thread and clog up the boards with a newb question and this thread seems to be around what i am looking into also.

Hi and thanks for the replies. I appreciate the Fiio E10 is desktop, but I am not using a PC. Unless there is another type for the same money (£110) I have my hands tied.

Yea but the E09 and E17 are portable amps actually the E09k the new model of the E09 should be around like $70, price shouldn't be much more in the EU either.

And to Shamuel [hehe I like ur name]

Do you need the isolation of closed headphones? That being teh first question I have for you :3

Since I have the COPs I don't really need the isolation. I can always use them at work or when the wife is doing her thing.

I usually stick with the closed headphones since it seems like it has the deeper bass but maybe with age or some artist I have found all sorts of sounds that aren't as present when I use different headphones.
