Use RCA at the back, and the regular 1/4" jack on the front.

Right ....I actually wanted to ask about the sound out of it , compared to other Solid States in this price range

Thanks !

Very clean and dead silent in my listening so far. Better than the HAP-100. Sonically similar to the Violectric V200 (bests it in balanced mode). I'm trying to think what other SS amps I've heard in the $350 bracket... Asgard 2? I'd prefer this over it (but admittedly I've just never been a fan of the Schiit sound).

Interesting .....I have sent them a review proposal , I have a YouTube Channel , I am not sure if they will send it or not but if they do I'll buy it

I have been lurking around the amp section for a long time , I mean a long time and this NuForce looked the most attractive , I would love to get Violectric stuff but with shipping and customs in India I am sure I might have to sell something or not eat food for some weeks :P

I'll reply if they send me one ..if not I will buy one in 2-3 months , Thanks for helping out , the limited content was frustrating

Just to clarify, was the improvement over the HAP-100 using the HD800?

Pretty much any headphone I tried, though the differences with the HD800 were quite stark. While I didn't compare the HAP-100 and HA-200 right next to each other, I did have a Wadia121 on the table at the time whose headphone output I felt was on roughly the same level as the HAP-100 (in terms of tone; but the Wadia has more power on tap). Moving from that to the HA-200 was an immediately noticeable improvement. The Wadia felt lifeless in comparison.

Awesome! Thanks for the impressions.

What headphones have both of you tried on it?

How much of a difference does the fancy volume control on the HAP-100 make in your opinion?

A bunch of different ones, but primarily with the HE-6, HD800, and modded T50rp.

The HAP-100 volume control is excellent. It doesn't add or detract in my experience. Not sure what else you're expecting from that.

I am easily impressed with fancy volume controls and I imagine that they will add to the experience..Lol

It is not really based on any factual reality. Thank you for your impressions.

Nothing too crazy fancy in the HAP-100; just a nicely implemented 100 step digital pot. A power surge did once manage to blow out the volume controller chip on one side (which Nuforce very quickly fixed for me), but that's not really something to pick at (one can't exactly predict acts of nature).

Armaegis, have you (or anyone else) had any experience driving the HD650 from the HA-200? I'm interested in something that mirrors the simplicity and general size of my AMC 1100, which has started to have some unserviceable electronics issues.

Unfortunately no, I have not heard it paired with the HD650. My guess is that it would be a very punchy combination though, based on how it interacts with other headphones like the HD800/DT860/K612, and that the HD650 is a warm tilted headphone.

If you had to compare its sound signature from memory to a Crack, what would you say?
