AUDEZE LCD XC - Page 44

Can someone kindly help me making decision ?
If I prefer HD800 over LCD2.2 and D7000 over LCD2.2.

Should I get LCDXC or TH900 ?

I like the sub-bass, strong mid, not too much into dark sounding like LCD2.2.

And anybody can compare D7000 vs LCDXC ?

Thanks in advance,

I'm on the audition list for the XC and own both the D7000 and TH900.  One thing is the D7000 is very close to the TH900, at least mine is to my ears with Lawton mods and angle pads . I.ll update when I get the XC but I am down the list a bit.

You are probably right, if I upgrade my D7000 with 7N grade cables and alpha pads, then it might sound very close to TH900.

Hope to hear your review on D7000/TH900 vs LCD-XC.

Thanks for the quick reply. !

TH900 better soundstage; LCD-XC better midrange (a bit recessed with the TH-900).  Both are wonderful headphones.  By the way the TH-900 is one of the most comfortable headphones (and lightweight to boot) I've ever used; the LCD-XC is heavy and clunky, although not uncomfortable by any means.  The LCD-XC is slightly more bright than the TH-900.  In my opinion, you should be quite happy with any of the two.

Nope...none whatsoever.

I am also on the list. I plan to compare to my LCD2 which is my current reference headphone.

Yep. The XC's are a significant improvement over LCD-2. The LCD-X probably even more so.

Yes...the LCD-X is better than the XC...much smoother and better soundstage...The X is the true reference headphone!

Stop it....I have the xc! :-) It's a simple choice really....You need closed you get the xc....You don't need closed, you get x or 3. There is no choice but whether you need closed or not.

The XC is a compromise...but not that much of a compromise. A lot of people prefer closed headphones.

There is always choice, :p to go broke and sorry for your wallet.

I am getting HE6, LCD-XC, and TH900. I go complete crazy, getting the 4th mortgage.  And then LCD-X just because I am and will be curious. :)

I'm in full agreement.  Both are amazing headphones (which is why I am keeping both for the reasons you have given).

I just got my purple hearts yesterday. Compared to my LCD2's, they definitely have more sparkle, but the bass is MIA. So far, not impressed.
