The main difference is that the 900 is more of a U-shaped SQ compared to the XC which sounds more natural. In fact, when I listen the 900 after, say, a week's absence, I feel that the treble is shriller. The slam is more on the 900 but overall the XC is more the balanced can with superb extension and detail. All IMO, of course.

Yeah , you're forgiven.

IMO, Audeze should try and work out a way of being able to attach the wooden cups, without screws showing. While I like the look of my LCD-XC's, for me they'd look a lot better with no screws showing, like the TH-900.

After all swapping them involves just 4 screws (x2)...

This is a great idea.

Although i think for a $1799 headphone, they could atleast give you 2 colours just with the headphones, unless the wood is some extremely expensive kind of wood, I didn't do my homework on that.

I wish 4 things for the LCD-XC successor (rev 2 ?)

1. More variety of wood cups, also ability to order extra cup finishes.

2. Easily removable earpads (non glued/2sided adhesive tapes)

3. Non angled ear pads, (I don't mind giving up on the sound stage)

4. Thicker headbands, (like LCD2.1)

and lastly reduce the weight.

:)

Didn't know they make headphone amps, which Emotiva model ? Their speaker amps are pretty powerful :)

The Emotiva is a $169 speaker amp that is being use to drive headphones via either banana or other speaker tap connections. Many HiFiMan HE500 users are loving the amp.

$220. The $170 price tag was only for the holidays.

The darling of every HE-500 owner. I did wonder how long it'd be until somebody tried one with the new Audezes.

Nice to hear you are enjoying the emotiva. Been eyeing that for a while now, if only I had the space.

You could borrow my TP60 speaker amp, very compact (not using/selling it since I don't need it's services since getting the Taurus MKII).
