Much batter than the newbie posts wanting to upgrade to a more expensive Beats, but not knowing which model would suit their musical taste.

What a laugh, If they like Beats, they have no musical tastes...  :deadhorse:

I really don't want to go offtopic or sound butthurt or anything

But saying people who like beats don't have a musical taste is a bit rude, don't you think? I'm enjoying my (way too overpriced) beats pro detox at the moment, and i think i do have a musical taste. To say they're stupid enough to buy blindly, yes, i would totally agree with that. That's pretty much what i did until i found these forums, now i'm looking to buy an Audeze LCD-XC :)

Which is better T5p or LCD-XC?

Because aluminium and stainless steel are both silver coloured, I felt the two brackets and 8 bolts that were used [ obviously the bolts can't be seen ] spoilt the overall look of my LCD-XC, so I decided to spray paint them Matt Black.

Here are some photos of how my XC now looks.

I'm sure some are fed up with the amount of photos I've been posting, but I'm only showing these of my LCD-XC because of what I've done to the brackets and bolts.

The mod to my XC is now complete so I won't be needing to post anymore photos.

Where did you get that stand?

From www.thomann.de
The stands are made by Rooms to which they do a couple different models in different finishes.

Thanks for the replys, might have to look into some customs then. Have some shure se535's but the only time I use them on the go is at the gym, they're just lacking overall compared to my full sized cans.
I've also tried the Ed 8's they're not for me, a tad too harsh and the s logic doesn't quite work for my ears.
Cable length, size and rain aren't a problem I always have a duffle bag or backpack on the go so plenty of room for storage and an umbrella plus I was going to get a shorter set of cardass clears if I purchased the XC.
Would you say the XC is far behind in isolation? If its not too much difference I think for my purposes the trade off would be worth it for the improvement since they'll be my only cans for a month. I'll be driving them off a CLAS dB and an ALO MK 3B+.
As for the muggers haven't had problems dealing with them with my T5P's and fortunately most people down here wouldn't know what they are or what they're worth...
Plus having a 3rd dan in karate, 1st fan in taekwando, brown in judo plus training in boxing, kendo and muay thai doesn't hinder things. And I can usually just talk my way out smily_headphones1.gif

I would really like to see purple heart/walnut/iroko high quality pictures, but it seems like there isn't anyone with other than bubinga wood cups.

As for Davids headphone stand - http://www.rooms-design.de/index.htmlhttp://www.thomann.de/gb/rooms_audio_line_misc_accessories_for_headphones.html?viewMode=block . I personally prefer typ FS (I got mahogany finish for my W3000ANV - it looks very gorgeous), I think Rooms typ FS walnut stand would be nice match for LCD-XC with walnut cups. I am actually thinking to get this combination for myself, but I have time for this - I will try to postpone my urge to get LCD-XC until the summer (I don't have the funds right now anyway), so I have some time to decide which finish I will like the most - dark walnut or sexy purple heart :) I certainly don't want Iroko, I am not really fond of light woods.

My LCD-XCs are sounding orgasmic out of my Concero HD/V200 combo. Gave the Concero HD about 110 hours of burn in so far and things have improved substantially. The XCs are now just so incredibly clear, impactful and smooth..

I'm planning on going for a 2 month holiday to Japan and can only bring one pair of headphones with me. I currently have the T5P but its lacking compared to my usual listen and I need them to be closed since I'll be using them on the plane, train and for general commuting as well as my regular listens. Would the isolation on the XC be adequate compared to the T5P?
Portability and size isn't an issue for me nor is the wooden caps for portable use, my primary concern is isolation.

Thanks in advance.

A great combo that I've been using for the past 6 weeks.

Theft wasn't my concern, more worried about damaging them. Also going by the measurements their isolation is only middling amongst closed cans. Will be getting a pair of Beyerdynamic COPs for the plane.

I was just on Audeze's website, and noticed that they have pulled all the wood choices except Bubinga. Hmmmm ............... .

I immediatly went to the site.. :( And you're right. I wanted to buy the XC wallnut in a few months, but it seems they discontinued them!

^ I'll save you guys the searching, here it is :(

Another picture (You can see you're unable to choose what wood you want)

You can see on this picture they also took away the other pictures :(.

Yea I remember reading that they would take away the others.  Lucky for me I like the Bubinga wood more!
