Should I buy a DAC for my laptop?

Thread Starter

My dad recently bought me a pair of speakers (B&W DM603 S2) which are are connected to my receiver (Denon DRA-397). I almost only listen to music on my laptop, a Dell Inspiron N4110. I primarily use Spotify or other good files I can find online. My laptop has and came with a Realtek "High Definition" Sound Card. Would it make much of a difference if I purchase a separate USB powered DAC? If so, which one should I buy. I don't think I can spend much higher than 200, unless it will make that much of a difference. Portability isn't a concern, but it would be nice to have a portable one. If it would help, which one(s) should I consider buying?

Thanks a lot for helping. Means a lot.
