so i used to play with a band and our guitarist used one of BBE'S sonic maximizers for his rig setup, it was a rack model and it made his sound incredible. Then about a year ago I downloaded their iphone app which replaces the music app and again brought incredible sound to my ears. So BBE has so far gained my appreciation. Well i noticed they have a new desktop version of their fantastic sonic maximizers. Im hoping somebody here has tested or heard it, because it just sounds like a dream come true.

I don't know about dream come true or anything, but I'm familiar with these. With moderate use of the controls, the results are quite nice and organic sounding. They make for excellent variable loudness compensation for home audio systems. Because it acts more like an aural exciter it provides more "sparkle" than simple eq. Like any processor, it can be abused. Too much and you bury the midrange, suffer excessively boomin' bass, and have treble darts hitting your eardrums.
