For Sale:
FS: iBasso DX100, 10/10 mint, incl. all original accessoires (located in EU)

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Update: Everything is still actual, except that I sold the hibino silicon case to someone, so, obviously, it's not included in the deal anymore.

Hello,

I've got a mint (used for 4 days, but still flawless) iBasso DX100 for sale. All original accessoires are included (charger, USB-to-microUSB cable, coaxial digital cable, and the older(?), original leather(?) box), and also a HAMA carrying-hard-case and a black hibino silicon case. If wanted I can include the sandisk 64GB mobile ultra (class 10) micro-sd card, I used with it, for another €40 or so, but I also wouldn't mind keeping it.

The DX100 still has its original screen protector on it. My reason for selling it is that I cannot use a DX100 for longer than about 6 months, before it breaks. This DX100 was used for only 4 days. Details can be found here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/592076/ibasso-dx100-24-bit-for-bit-pg-1-reviews-impressions-downloads-video-new-firmware-1-4-2/11880#post_9672567

I am pretty sure there's no warranty on this DX100, because it was sent to me as a replacement for my old DX100, which already had a warranty extension granted from iBasso. I have contacted iBasso again and I'm currently waiting for their response - maybe they're willing to take my DX100 back, or at least provide warranty for an eventual buyer.

Buyer pays shipping, I'll cover the paypal fees.

Here's some older feedback I got: http://www.head-fi.org/t/22296/ramtha604

And some more recent feedback on discogs: http://www.discogs.com/user/rawland604.

I can provide more pictures if requested, but I would have to borrow a camera again, so it could take a while. If you have any questions, just let me know. I'm open to all serious monetary offers.

Thank you.

Roland

Hey, could you somehow explain what you mean by that:

"My reason for selling it is that I cannot use a DX100 for longer than about 6 months, before it breaks."

I wondered what that meant too.

Probably means that he's afraid he will break it?

I took it to mean that they're unreliable. Great price though.

Price is great... It's either the way how he uses it that breaks the device, or as tony said it's just an unreliable DAP.

Thanks for asking, AManAnd88Keys! I assumed it was easy to find out that an explanation could be found in this post (http://www.head-fi.org/t/592076/ibasso-dx100-24-bit-for-bit-pg-1-reviews-impressions-downloads-video-new-firmware-1-4-2/11880#post_9672567), but going by the other responses here, I guess I wasn't as clear as I had thought. ;)

I'm having a serious problem with my DX100 that I think can only be related to sensitivity of the DX100 to electrostatic discharge.

I got my DX100 end of April 2012 and noticed pretty soon that sometines when I unlocked my postbox or apartment door the volume would fade away for ~half a second (it wouldn't pause and start playback, just the volume would go away). One of the very first things I did, when I received my DX100 was to turn off the autoscreen rotator, because i found it a very annoying feature. Anyway, after 4 months it didn't turn on anymore and I had to send it back to ibasso. After they had repaired it they let me know, upon inquiry, that the power management chip had failed. 7 months later I had to send it back the second time. I explained to them how the DX100 behaved when I unlocked my postbox / apartment door and that I thought the failures were caused by electrostatic shocks which would cause damage to the DX100. I received it back and this time it was the CPU that was replaced. On the second day of using the DX100 after I had received it back for the second time I noticed it still behaved the same way when I unlocked my apartment door and so I asked ibasso to send me a replacement for my DX100 so I could find out if it was only my unit that was so sensitive to electrostatic discharge or if it was part of the DX100s design. So I sent my old DX100 back, received a new one from ibasso and lo and behold, it behaved in exactly the same way as my first DX100. When I noticed this for the first time with the new DX100, I immediately stopped using it (didn't want to damage it any further).

I now want to sell my DX100, because obviously it would break within a few or several months if I continued using it and this would just be stupid, when I could as well sell a practically brand new DX100 and get something that handles electrostatic discharge better and won't die on me (like my sansa clip or sony discman, which never reacted to me unlocking my postbox / apartment door in any way, but obviously don't cut it sound-quality wise).

I hope this clears it up. ;)

Thanks for your clarification. It's still a bit strange though, as there are many owners who can happily use their DX100.... odd.

It is strange, but I guess there could be many factors playing into this. A friend of mine (an extremely knowledgeable electronics engineer) asked me if I used headphones with the cable going only into one earcup and then through the headband into the other, because apparently he thought that might be a factor. And these are exactly the kind of headphones I use with my DAPs (Beyerdynamic DT250-250 and Sennheiser HD 25-C 2).

I envy those owners, who can happily use their DX100. Right now I'm at a loss of about €890 (DX100 price in EU + sending it back to china three times), because I'm having a for me useless DX100 sitting around. I haven't received a response from iBasso after two weeks, so far.
