I know it's not exactly the same thing, but I did previously have the drivers recessed in the cups.

My impressions were not very favorable. It seemed to make the mids distant, and eliminate a lot of bass.

With that said, it did not have the distancer holes or felt that are so vital to the MS1000 mod, so please take my comments with a grain of salt.

Yes, I mean like the MS-1000 mod. I did read your post after I wrote my question and felt like that pretty much answered it. Still curious to see if the holes and felt would make any positive difference to the SennGrados. For now, I'm thinking about adding spacers and a wood cup to my SR-60es.

Finally finished mine up today. I most definitely prefer the L-cush pads over the G-cush simply for the mids.  Could be my ear shape and the pads so YMMV but the L-cush has a more forward mids which keeps the highs in check. G-cush has me turning the volume higher and the highs just get out of hand. Does anyone have input wether or nor the PX100-ii drivers burn-in with use? I'm thinking of putting mine away for 72hours of run time before putting them back on..

Grado PX100-ii drivers with Cedar cups from 7Keys, Avio headband and Zonk L-cush. (G-cush pictured)

Lookin' great man! Well done!

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a Grado (or SennGrado) being fed from a DX100. Thoughts?

Also, with regards to your question about burn-in, in my experience the PX100 is one of the most "set" drivers I've ever heard. That means that it 1. did not take to any kind of burn-in and 2. barely scales at all with better amplification. Obviously YMMV.

Thanks! If it weren't for the SennGrado tour thread I'd be in the blind about this build so thanks to all the guys that made that happen. Very happy with my first built-by-me HP!

The DX100 is unforgiving to the max with the Senns, all the high res and well mastered albums I have sound fantastic and is very clean. It's also allowed to me realize which of my albums TRULY are well mastered. I wouldn't recommend the combo unless source files are all fantastic in mastering or you can choose to be picky, unfortunately half of my albums get too sibilant. I'm going to bring it home and try it on the Beresford which should calm things down on the treble end without losing extension and air. Looking forward to that and the much lower noise floor.

I'm looking forward to more listening sessions to come!

I wanted to put pics of my "beta" version of Senngrados with Cherry cups from 7keys, but I don't know how to post pics on this forum.

Thanks, but the problem is I don't see rich text editor or bb code editor even if I set this in my profile.

Odd...I wonder if it's a post count thing? As in you are still considered too "new"? That seems a little odd though...

If after 111 (or 112 now) posts and more than a year of reading/writing here I'm considered to 'new' then who is old enough? biggrin.gif
I'm using Firefox and Chromium (Chrome) for Linux. I don't think it should be a problem.

are you in mobile mode or desktop? because i noticed the buttons for adding pictures/video etc seem to disappear when i switched over from desktop to mobile. I'm not sure if this is what is causing your issue or not but thought it was worth asking,

you can switch back and forth from mobile to desktop or vice versa by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on the buttons like in the pic below

I still have the option to post pictures from mobile. The options are limited in comparison to the desktop version, but the few work.

He really must have something funky going on in his setup. Unless somehow his account is flagged to not give the option? It's probably something simple that's being overlooked.
