Can a DT770 pro 80 Ohm be driven with an iPhone4?

I recently bought a pair of DT770 pro 80 ohms and expected for them to be bass heavy, but I was quite underwhelmed by the amount of bass I received, it was less than my Bose oe1s... I bought these because of the bass, so it could be possible that I was expecting too much.
I was wondering whether or not an amp would resolve the issue, as I am running from weak sources, an iPhone and laptop with generic sound card.
If so, which amp would be the best? I figured a Fiio E07k should be fine, but if possible I would like to spend >$75.
Also, could it be possible that I have a defective pair? People have commented that these headphones have good isolation but I found the isolation worse than the Bose OE1s that I upgraded from.

I would Recommend a JDS Labs C5 headphone amp, portable, $189 and looks like they test them specifically on the freakin Beyerdynamics, considering their website has so many pics of them on there. But yes a Fiio E07k would be a great choice too.
