Looking to mod Fostext50rp with wooden cups any interior design tips I should take into consideration?

Hey guys

I've made wooden cups before modeled after the oval shape the Bose quiet comforts and have got incredible results with just Sennheiser HD201 drivers. Now for a second project I got my hands on a a pair of Fostex T50rp open headphones and want to do some serious modding but more circular this time. I'm only saving the headband cup mounts and drivers, because I want to design the cups myself. I was inspired by wooden headphones made from these forums and wanted to give it a shot. I'm very new to this and don't really understand how things should sound and how to dampen etc. Is there anything I should read or look at to educate myself in this craft? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Mark

Check the ortho threads - lots of modding expertise in there - including folks that have done wooden cups for the T50RP.
