I'm choosing between k550 and k551. Is there any difference beetween them in SOUND QUALITY?
I compared the graph on GOLDEN EAR.COM, there were some differences in graphs!?
I also have heard k551 does work with Apple's mostly, and not with other devices!
(I use ipod, macbook pro, audiofire4)
Can you help me???

Can't understand why the K551 would not work with "other devices"?

The K551 and K550 are both 32-Ohm.

Someone said that other devices don't recognize it, but the most important question is about bass differences.
It seems k550 has a serious sub-mid problem as rhythmdevils
says. What do you think about it?

"other devices don't recognize it" does not really make sense, the K551 should work plugged into just about anything.

I own the K550s and I personally do not have any problems with it's sound, it may not be as warm sounding as my ATH-A900X headphones, but the K550s do have a "clear" sound, to me the K550s are very easy to listen to. Something I could wear for long periods of time.

Hes talking about the mic I think. The mic/volume botton.

Maybe that bottom.  Thanks guys

Don't you feel a peek in upper-mid with k550?

Does it exist in k551 too?

I too am having the same dilemma about sound quality between these two devices. I originally wanted the k550 due to their excellent reviews but was swayed towards the k551 because they are a bit cheaper and more portable which would suit the fact I want to use them on the move. However, I already own plenty of portable headphones and don't want to compromise on sound quality if there is indeed a difference between these two cans. Although at first I thought that they were essentially the same headphone a review I watched by the hifi guy seemed to suggest otherwise. What input do others have on this before I take the plunge.
Cheers

In general, integrated microphones/volume controls worsen the sound quality. There's a reason you don't see a mic on the SE846 or IE800. The more complicated the wiring, the poorer the SQ. That being said, I hated the K550, but everyone else seems to love it :/
