Hello everyone, My name is Fred. First, I would like to say thank you for all the great info on the site. I have been visiting the site for about a month now and figured it was time to join the commuity and ask for some help.

I guess I will start with my questions first. I live in Michigan (metro detroit area) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shop in the area to go to and listen to some Headphones.. Or does anyone know if it is possible to visit the Head-Fi headquarters to checkout some equipment. Has Head-Fi ever held an event in the michigan area...

Next I have been trying to choose a pair of headphones to use at work. I am currently using an older pair of Bose earbuds. Not sure if they qualify as IEM or not. But after going through numerous pairs of $50 headphones and earbud style headphones, Not being happy with the way they sound. I now would like to buy a nice pair of headphones so I can hear the way music should sound. I guess I am looking for a full sound, I like bass but don't want the headphones to have a bassy over tone across the board. I work in automotive design so I will be listening to the Headphones for hours at a time. I am also in an office type environment so I was thinking I want a closed type headphone so I don't have to worry as much about sound leaking out and distracting my cube mates. Not sure if I am correct with this thinking or not. I listen to music from most genres. Alternative rock, rock, hip-hop, top 40 and a little electronic music. My souce for music is a new IPod touch I just bought....

The Headphones I have been thinking about are the Sennheiser Momentum, Bowers & Wilkins P7 and V-Moda Crossfade M-100 and if they should need an Amp I was thinking about the JDS Lab assembled Odjective 2, JDS Labs Cmoy BB, FiiO E11, E12 or E17

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated....

Thank you for your Time

Fred

Head-Fi meets are a great place to listen to gear. However, I think all you can do is watch the Meets forum for something in your area.
