Is requesting a custom made cable a thing?

I ask because I'm having a hard time finding a USB mini B to micro B OTG cable for my E07k to my HTC One. I've found some but they are way too long, and the ones I've seen here are exactly what I'm looking for...

So I guess my question is, is it a thing to ask someone to make you a cable (in exchange for money of course)? And where would I do that?

there's lots of custom cables store web sites.. most of them are for high end audio cables and will be pretty expensive..  you could ask brian at btgaudio to make the cable.. another low cost option would be the mimic cables guy who posts on geekhack.org  there are others I can't remember offhand but those two aren't too expensive.  just use their web site and contact them for a custom quote.. also before you ask make sure the cable you want is something that will actually work with your phone
