Well, my budget is $300 including the headphones. I'm getting a pair of Sennheiser HD 380 Pro's and I'm pretty final with this decision this time lol. So I have about $175 left to spend on a dac/amp. Portability would be awesome because I just bought a HTC 8X.

then fiio wouldnt relaly work for you. Something like M audio would be better since those are made for mixing

im not the most familiar with mixing and mastering music. unfortunately im not the best person to refer to for that =\

 

i only know enough to know that you need products more dedicated specifically to mixing and mastering than something like the fiio line

i know my two friends who are both very interested in mixing and mastering music both use m audio products in the 3-400 dollar range. Seems like a good palce to start!

Meh what type of genres of music are they producing?

we're in an acapella group so genres like indie, r&b, pop, and rock but all with vocals and beatbox.

I love independent artists so I def will tonight.

 

But see you just explained to me why you guys needs that much money spent on equipment.

 

I'm a hip hop guy. All I need is a good headphone and a pirated version of FL Studio haha.

well i mean its not our profession. We're all college students and its one of the activities we do on campus =)

 

it just happens that its an activity we take VERY seriously

I hate college but love all the parties finishing kegs and crushing bottles of Bacardi king of the class I'd rather lay up with a hottie single doesn't mean I'm looking for somebody.
