Hello, all. I'm in the market for a pair of closed, reasonably portable, and comfortable headphones for under $400 (with or without a portable amp). I primarily listen to guitar-driven music -- a lot of metal, progressive rock, and fusion -- so natural mids are a plus. Durability and noise isolation are important to me, so I bought a pair of V-Moda Crossfade M-100s in the hopes that I'd be able to forgive the bass-heavy profile. I can't, and I find them to be extremely uncomfortable. They kind of squish the entrance to my ear canal...
I've been using Bose AE2s for a long time. They don't sound great (obviously), but I love how roomy the cups are. A fit like that would be best.
Amazon has had a lot of good deals lately, so I'll seriously consider any suggestion around the top end of my price range. So far, I've been considering Denon AH-D600s, Beyerdynamic DT770s, and some other similar builds.
Thanks in advance!
