over ear headphones for home movies, music, games - Page 2

DT770 is pretty thunderous. k701 does just fine on a receiver for movies/games. dunno if he has one.

Okay. Maybe look into:

  • CAL!
  • DT-770
  • Superlux HD-681 Evo for something cheaper

Superlux model is super bright. Difficult to use on a regular basis

Agree on that, I had a pair of superluxes as my first decent headphones but once I stepped into bigger leagues I wouldn't really recommend them.

ok guys the question now is: Sennheiser hd 380 pro vs beyerdynamics Dt770 pro i will only use them  for home but plugged into my Monitor so no amp should be required. main use rock eg. linkin Park, rise against etc... some classic from time to time and games plus movies :P hope you guys can help . The hd 380 actually look pretty nice why should i stay away? thanks !

Maybe a FiiO e9 or Schiit Magni.

Get the 80ohms, they're still efficient enough to be driven without an amp.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=92801&Q=&is=REG&A=details I think I may want to buy my pair back off my friend I gave it to. :P It's not the best thing in my collection, but it had a really euphonic sound, perfect for bach on vinyl kinda deal. (If you want more the prettiest hum and rustle you've ever heard than every detail.) I also wish XB700s hadn't been cancelled - those were ridiculously fun.

Ok thx but you get the xb700 still in the internet i think wink.gif
post #30 of 35

Yeah there are plenty of them, and you can even find them for really cheap prices.
Chintimin, have you tried the m100? Would you say the xb700 are better suited for dubstep than the m100?
