CIEM Cables always spoiling

As the title suggest, i've a problem with CIEM cables.

The longest i've used a CIEM cable is my Beat Audio titan which lasted me for about a year, and UM's stock cable about 8 ~ 9months. I bought westone stock cables twice but both times they don't last more than 3 months.
Everytime the same problem occurs. One side of the custom starts to sound much softer than the other, until sound completely disppears from one side. There's nothing wrong with my CIEM. I'm not rough on my cable and i do take care of my cables.

My habit of using it is using it with my laptop and iPhone 4s. Will frequent usage of plugging it into my laptop and changing to iphone result in the cable spoiling?

They shouldn't wear just from plugging in that quickly, try a better built cable from Toxic cables or similar. Or if you feel like it, build your own like I do. I buy my cable from toxic cables and make my own. Bit cheaper

Mmmm i've ordered one from toxic cable, its due probably mid december to early next year!
I actually posted this because i hope my cable from toxic cable doesn't spoil like these few.

Do you have any idea what can cause the lost of sound in one side? Assuming nothing is wrong with a custom. Don't really wish to buy replacement cables every few months.

Its usually a break in the cable near the jack
