The Headfone Shop in Toronto on Yonge Street has started selling Stax.

It would be great if someone has a ESP-950 to Stax amp adapter cable.  I would love to try it and see if it justifies a purchase.  That said, I am broke, so even if a Stax amp really IS that much better, I will have to save up.

I didn't the first few times I tried them, but then I got a great deal on a pair, and I tried them, and they were great!  It must be the type of music I am using.  I still find it lacks bass, but the mids and highs are just fantastic, so clear.

Don't use mine, I am sure I screwed it up because I have heard the MadDogs, and they are leaps and bounds better.  Try the BFM mods, I heard they were great.  As an aside, I tried the thunderpants once, didn't like it at all, very flabby bass.  But then of course, like the UM2, I may like it the next time I hear them, all depends on the chain and the type of music.

Interesting, it might indeed be the music that we listen to, but I find they have ample bass but lack highs... was the great deal that you scored for the RC version?

That's the store where I purchased my HE-400, I had no idea that he was selling Stax. Perhaps I need to start saving some money ;).

At the TAVES show they told me they were going to start bringing in Stax.
If you look at their web site looks like they only bring in a few uber expensive Stax.

I plan on bringing my el-cheapo SRS-2170 to the meet if you want to check them out! biggrin.gif
