Problems with active amplfication- jack to jack help

Hey guys,

It's my first post here, so please excuse me if I sound inexperienced. I have owned a pair of PSB M4U2 headphones for a few months now. Unfortunately, the jack to jack stopped working today (playing one ear only). The company do give you a spare, but mine is at home (as well as the receipt), and I'm at uni. When I tried using my friend's cable, the headphones played out of both ears, but only on passive mode. They wouldn't play when I set the headphones to active amplification. So I was wondering if there were any 3.5-3.5mm cables that you guys know of that would definitely work with active amplification?

Cheers

Hmm. Normal 3.5mm to 3.5mm should be all the same. Did the older cable have 4 poles are something?

I think it's possible the problem is in the 'phones not the cable. Did you try the cable with something besides your headphones?

Ah, I just checked my friend's cable and you are right- mine is a 4 pinned one, and his is a 3, so I guess getting another 4 pinned one should do it. Also, yeah I put my cable in another friend's headphones, and there was no sound, so it must be a dodgy cable. Cheers for the help!
