Try HD650 and K550 for contrast. Sometimes it's not about pricepoint, it's more about sound signature and you sound like you're looking for something more warm and fun. It's not a guilty pleasure it's just simple preference. I prefer cold and calculating sound signatures like the HD800, but I can only listen to them for so long before it becomes fatiguing, so I just listen at lower volume which is probably better for me anyway.
If you're looking for a closed can with pretty good isolation, I can recommend the K550. Doesn't have the soundstage of the Q701 or an open can, but it does quite well, IMO. Easier on the ears than the Q, for me. Demo demo demo! (if possible). I know a lot of people recommend the V-Moda 100 Crossfade for a closed can. I'd love to hear it, though I doubt I'd switch (wife loves the K550... and the Q701 for that matter).
The Lyr is a big investment, but worth it, if you're planning or anticipating getting cans that need some oomph to drive them.
