Looking for instructions on how to purchase on head-fi

Hi Head-fi! I found a pair of Shure SE535's that I am extremely interested in buying. However, I cannot seem to find a forum for a step by step on purchasing off this website. If someone could give me a link or a step-by-step, it would be appreciated. On top of that, I have a question concerning the IEM's themselves: I've heard about the roll-off on the treble. Would EQ-ing it be a solution? Thank you!

EQ=solution

How to use the FS forum:

1. Click on the "Send Private Message" button on whatever classified you are interested in.

2. Type up and send a message to the seller with your offer and location.

3. Await his response.

4. Once you reach a final agreement with someone, send payment. You can use PayPal gift if the seller has excellent feedback from top members of the community, or, for less established sellers, regular PayPal, which does add another 3% to the overall cost but essentially guarantees the validity of the offer.

5. Give all relevant shipping info.

6. Wait for your package to arrive.

7. Inspect the received item(s). Do appearances match descriptions/photos? If you are satisfied with your transaction, leave positive trader feedback for your seller. If not, PM your seller about whatever you find an issue with. The situation most likely work itself out in the end; even if you end up returning said item(s), leave some trader feedback for the seller. If they handled the situation admirably, leave positive feedback. Of they threatened to trace your IP and take your family hostage for refusing the item, leave negative feedback.

Thank you so much! can you tell me whether or not the roll-off on the SE535 is fixable with EQ-ing?

It is fixable. An iDevice's crummy EQ won't help, though.

I was considering ordering some new dampers and using the oranges ones suggested in the comments. http://www.head-fi.org/t/663273/se530-535-acoustic-filter-mod-more-sq-improvement-than-cables-dampers

I've only tried a vanilla 535--if the dampers/oranges actually work as advertised, then I might reconsider putting the 535 back on my "rec" list.
