VSonic GR06, HiFiMan RE-400, or Shure SE215? Rock music...Under $100 IEMs

Hey! I am looking for the best earbuds I can find for under $100

I previously owned Klipsch S4i, and I liked it, the sound was great and all. It broke while working out.

I been researching for a while, especially from this website, and I seemed to learned that the VSonic GR06, HiFiMan RE-400, and Shure SE215 are favorites for under $100

I'll use these earbuds for normal usage, PLUS when working out! So I need something comfortable..

Rock is basically all I listen to. All kinds of rock. From Alternative to Metal.

I like the VSonic GR06 and all, but I am unsure if they can be worn normally, or if they MUST be worn over-the-ear like the Shure SE215?

I was hoping for finding earbuds with Apple controls, but its okay since I couldn't find anything decent besides the Klipsch S4i II.

I am aware that I can get the wire with controls for the Shure, but that is too expensive.

So what earbuds are the best for under $100?

If the ones I listed are no good, please tell me what you'd recommend and WHY. Thanks!

I would pick up the 215's. They don't have amazing clarity but they're great for working out and very durable, especially compared to the RE-400. The RE-400 has a nice balanced sound which is better than the 215's imo but in terms of durability I would be shocked if the RE400's managed to last longer, especially if you're gonna work out in them.

Thanks everyone for the replies!

I think I'll kick the Shure SE215 out of the comparison because I am more of a rock enthusiast and I read that these are not ideal.. Plus they look bulky and unpleasing,,and they seem like they'd be uncomfortable.

I really like the RE-400 because of the great reviews..but the GR06 seem more better considering the price..

And, like you mentioned, the RE-400 wont last long in the gym,,that's a bad thing for me.

Does the VSonic and HiFiMan Brand stand by their warranties? just in case if it does break?

For VSonic I believe you'd have to send your product to China for warranty..

Hifiman definitely stands by their products - they are very good in that regard. The bad thing is you will most likely need to do so once or twice.

Ahh thank you!

Okay, ignoring the price difference..

For Rock, would the RE-400 beat out the GR06, or other way around?

I am not an audiophile by any means...to me, the Klipsch S4i sounded perfect..so yea. But since im spending the money, I want the best I can get, you know?

I figure that if I spend the extra $35 for the RE-400, I get a warranty, whereas I get iffy warranty with the GR06, so that is the tossup. The quality of sound determines my answer.
