$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage - Page 341

I occasionally get this error message - a typical scenario is that while playing an album I notice that songs are missing. In sensitive IEMs I hear a slight cracking noise when the song is accidentally skipped. Going back to that song it plays without problems. Another scenario is when quickly skipping through albums with high-res files, i.e. large files. It might be the memory card being too slow.

Noodles, are you playing your songs from the internal memory or from external card?

I have trouble shooted using both.

I had problems loading files onto the player without errors, and it turned out the card was counterfeit. Have you checked whether it is genuine? Obviously if you're having problems using the internal memory then this isn't the answer.

The card is legit.  No issues with it on any other device.

Has anyone tried the Oppo PM-3s with the M and if so what are your impressions?  I recently purchased a pair from a fellow head-fi member to use as my on the go headphone with the M and I really like the pairing, almost as much as the XC/M pairing.  In my opinion, at under $400, the PM-3s may be one of the best value propositions in headphones.

My Calyx M is still my favourite DAP but alas there's the battery life issue.  The great news is this is no longer the case.  The X-batt is here and just got it attached.  It will give to my DAP 2.5 times playing time.  Cool and the fit is just right.  Of course there will be a weight increase but for the extended playtime, why not.

What a stack!  May I ask where you purchased the battery pack from?

Jaben has them for $145USD.  It is a replacement battery of unspecified size and spec, not an additional battery.  Probably easier, cheaper and just as thick to buy a portable battery pack that all your devices can use.  Should mention the X-Batt requires you open the unit, remove the existing battery, connect the new and replace the cover with itself.  Warranty likely smashed at that point.

Very nice setup. This player still intrigues me... I think I will order one in the future. Just curious why they didn't make battery the same color. I don't think I'd ordr the extra battery anyway as I wouldn't want to void the warranty. I normally do shorter listening sessions any way, for times when I don't have access to charging I could easily choose one of my other daps.

Thanks for the info.  I really want to get the Calyx but since my commutes are very long, I don't really want to have to constantly worry about the battery.  I thought this would be a good solution since it still seems pocketable without the use of wires/external chargers but I guess not!

I use LPG for critical listening and I do get lost in music from time to time but with calyx M it is always the case. Something about their tuning which just has a grip on me every time.
