Interesting... hope the battery life is large then considering they went with the stereo version. That has become a requirement of mine after playing with the ZX1

Am I the only one who can't completely load the official website today?

I think my browser (Firefox) is running correctly, so my guess is that Calyx might be updating the website.

Firefox didn't load it correctly with me, I had to jump on Chrome to see it properly. No luck on IE either.

Wow, well that's rediculous! I know the calyx.kr website has been bitching about wanting to be run in Chrome, but now it really won't run at all unless you're using Chrome!

Amber, you're correct - I just installed Chrome and the calyx.kr website is loading properly now.

Talk about alienating a massive chunk of your potential customers!

Real disappointed in the storage capacities of these new DAPs. 128gb for a hi-res/lossless music library is a joke unless you plan on keeping only a portion of your music library on the DAP and then switching it out every so often.

YEP, and also a very stupid business decision not to offer several capacity (like iPhone), so that they can have a first price under $1000 and make bigger margin with the 128 & 256 Gb versions !!  S.T.U.P.I.D. !

it seems to me to be the most obvious deficit in almost all the new flagships, AK240 aside

So our choices are to either pay a large amount of money for something with a large weakness or a pay a ridiculous sum for something with everything. Or DIY mod.

Closest middle ground I see is the AK120 Titan with 128gb internal plus 2 microsd slots. Still expensive but at least you get storage.

once 128gb micro sd cards are reasonably priced, it looks attractive...

Don't forget the Fiio X5.

I think many people are ignoring the X5 because they think it can't sound very good for $400, and they might be correct, but I suspect Fiio are going to surprise people with how good it sounds, considering it's bargain price. I don't mean I expect it to sound as good as a flagship DAC, but I think it will come surprisingly near.

No internal memory, but 2 MicroSD slots, which is a reasonable compromise at that price.

As for the Calyx-M, I'm thinking Calyx may have the beginnings of a marvelous DAP, here, but it may require a 'Mk 2' version to bring it to full fruition (more memory, ideally lower OI, and better control-button implementation). It still looks damned nice as it currently is, though.

You know what, the next generation micro sd cards should come now, that's enough frustration. So we can see and decide what kind of capacity would fit for us. 64 gb internal + 64 gb micro sd might be small but maybe 64 gb + 128 gb can be good enough.

The same goes for other daps too. X5 would become 128 gb + 128 gb and DX90 128 gb + 8 gb.

We really need to know whether the next gen. cards will work with the current slots or not.

If unit has a micro SD slot doesn't have unlimited capacity? You just switch cards.

Obviously it depends on how a person would like to use the device. To me, it is rather useless way. While I like the idea of being able to pull whatever I want from my card-holder, in real life it is rather annoying. I use my dap while walking or sitting in the bus/train. Forget about swapping cards, I am sure I would lose many of those tiny-miny-minnie micro sd cards while trying to swap when I am walking or being shaked in the train or the bus.

I don't  want to switch cards on the go either, but switching at home before I leave is a whole other thing. Personally I don't find this annoying even though i have to peel back the silicone skin on my X3 everytime I want to change memory cards. I have several cards and I will pick one and it will stay in my DAP until I either

A.) have listened to all the files on it it or

B.) there are no files left on it that I want to listen to at that time.

Then I will switch cards before the next time I go out, so with multiple cards a DAP with a SD or microSD slot does offer virtually unlimited capacity. With 64 GB cards, or even 32GB cards all with 16/44.1 WAV or 24/96-192 FLAC, in my case, I am not switching cards very often even with lengthy outings. My job is not conducive to listening to music on a personal device so I don't bring my DAP to work. If caught I would get fired.
