Now that it's been a while since you had both, any update on comparisons btw both? :)

(j/k.... or maybe not)

@Kiats
, how's yours running?

Kkcc, I run a mix of dsd and 16bit files. Can't say I have come across such a short run. I get at least 6 hours. Mind you: most of my files are dsd files. Hence, I am surprised at just over 4 hours with 16bit files...

You guys have too much money ! lol. I can't even afford AK100.

There's the AK100II... If you are willing to splurge on the AK240 as an end game, UERM is having a promo which brings the AK240 down to $2131 for the AK240 with the dock. Sell the dock and you could own the unit for just $1900 :)

But you'll have to find a partner who wants the UERM to share the cost

Still pretty much the same actually: the Calyx M brings to the table a much richer and textured sound, while maintaining a good degree of clarity. Great depth of soundstage. On the other hand, the AK240 is more transparent and neutral, with a wider soundstage. Not that the sound is thin by any account, just not as dense as the Calyx M.

Ultimately, both sigs are thoroughly enjoyable in their own right. smily_headphones1.gif

lol long gone were the days where headfiers keep 1 premium DAP but many IEMs/headphones for different signature. Now many keep at least a few premium DAPs for different signature too! Lol

In my opinion, there are few top ones and many small other stuffs.

Ak240, Calyx M, Cowon P1 and iBasso R10 are top four. I have two of them.

nope. based on its spec and function, I can assume. I liked previous products from Cowon.

These four units are the ones with touch screen, card slots, quality DAC chips and so on.

I will get them all one day.

they don't come with touchscreen and their sound quality isn't better than that of AK240 or Calyx M.

Have you heard both of them and compared to 240 and Calyx? I know many who would dispute your claim lol

Many moons ago I once listened to specs instead of music too.... beerchug.gif

But the question really, especially on this thread, is why the Calyx M, who has a touchscreen, not considered top......
