Thanks but, as I thought, your references do not have the company going on the record with a promise of a June update. I do believe that they hoped for that. The Square Wave site suggests that an update is days away.

or should we wait till July?

Seems like it comes out on Monday(30th, I mean). South Korean Time.

That's very true... The CEO almost promised that it won't hav EQ at all, even for the updates.

Why are people are so against EQ'S?

I love the idea of not putting EQ and just giving honest reference quality sound.

What is reference to you may not be for another.  Even though reference may fall under a narrow range, when it comes to high end, people will take notice of subtle differences.  I think EQ will give people make changes from subtle to drastic.  Also, some phone may require EQ.  Some people get certain phones with extended treble and there might be drop somewhere and they would boost it to get the sound they desire.  For some, no phone is perfect, so tweaking is necessary for them.

I agree with Silverears. I'd rather have the option of tweaking it to my liking.

My vote is for No EQ too. If you need to tweak the sound it means your monitors are not correct for you.

EQ is not only for monitors, you can tweak the track's output also.  EQ provides flexability to the sound, and it's one of those things that can be heavily used(depending on who is using it) or come in handy from time to time.

EQ programs can be very sophisticated.  It really can be helpful if one figures out the more complex ones that give you more control with precision.

Some songs sound better being adjusted. I can't see how having an EQ hurts in anyway. Definitely gives you more flexibility too. I'd rather have one set of phones that are as close to my sound preferences as possible, that I can tweak for different songs or genres. Rather than having my asg2 for rap, rock, etc and my 1p2 for classical. I can just EQ the bass down on my asg2 for when I want classical. Certainly doesn't mean they are the wrong monitors.

I would think it'd be useful for people that have a lot of different headphones. I don't have many, but some folks have very impressive signatures.

I am fine with no EQ. A good crossfeed would be nice but I don't think that is in the cards.

I'm not against EQ either. But I do find some perceived lost of transparency when turning on EQ with some player program or DAP. So for me I will always try the EQ function if available to work with some of the poorer recording/production and see if I like the EQ'ed sound better on my system. I'm interested in enjoying music and not how it should sound. But for those EQ that cost me transparency, I would rather bear with the originally produced FR.

With calyx M it won't be an issue for me as my issue with "poor" recordings is that they could be too bright. With M being warmer and full bodied, it is less important to "fix" these bright recordings for me.
