You have to change from the rapid charge mode to the normal mode and charge over the full battery indicator. I expect this bettered by a sw update.

So called glue problem: It is simply not a problem IMO. A guy who received the first batch of preorders deliberately inserted a sheet of paper between the front bottom plastic decoration and the lcd and it was detached. (I don't understand such a behavior personally.) The company's explanation was that the glue was not fully dried. I think it cannot be repeated theoretically because such an early delivery is not necessary after the first batch (and oversea delivery time is sufficient to dry the glue fully).

w/ hires files... Mine runs about 5hours... I almost hav no mp3s, just a mix of dsd n flacs....( less than 30 mp3 files among 250 gigs)

I'm a owner of M, DX90. n hm802 and ... about 70 percent of my choice to bring out is M... about the bugs?  It seems to me that all the devices are about same unless its ipod...

It just seems to me that problems what people are talkin about M just got magnified way beyond...

Hi, Since you own the DX90 how about giving us an in depth comparison of their respective SQ. A lot of folks seem to rate the DX90 highly so where does the M sit in direct comparison ?

The only issues I am having are the (current) absence of folder view, and the relatively short battery life. Folder view is being corrected, and I can live with 3-5 hours of battery life. The important thing is that this DAP sounds amazing, at less than half the price of the AK240 or Hugo, and has the capacity to carry 448gb of music. As I reported earlier, with CIEMs I think it sounds better than the Hugo. That is quite an achievement.

There is a tendency on Head-fi to attack a lot of new and interesting products, particularly from smaller manufacturers, because they don't all have the production facilities of Sony or Apple. Frankly, the minor shortcomings of the Calyx M are nothing compared with the frustrations I have with itunes. We should be encouraging these manufacturers, not overstating minor criticisms, particularly when the product is this good. I note that most of the criticism is coming from people who haven't heard the Calyx M. If the product is not yet developed enough for you to buy one, that is fine, but the negativity in threads like this must make some manufacturers wonder why they bother.

I totally agree w/ you bro... If you see the complaints about M,,, you will see most of them are not a owner or a pretend to be a owner( i can tell by some of the words wht they are saying... can notice it since i'm a owner)

As a owner of M... I miss something for sure... but pleased in general in terms of its build quality or its sound.. it's been the best DAP to me(sound..especially) so far.

This seems to be a pattern in this thread, almost enough that it almost deterred me from getting this unit. Other than the less than perfect battery life, this unit appears to be the real deal. Probably a nice upgrade over my zx1.

Any M owners with OGG files willing to give them a test (from a purely functioning point of view, rather than SQ)?

ran a couple of OGG albums through the Calyx and playback was fine - browser parsed all the ID info normally (i've noticed it ignoring some tracks tags, lumping them all under 'unknown' - mainly those with non-english characters in their titles), but album art on ogg files seems to be an issue? not my rips, so i can't confirm that's a Calyx problem - YMMV.

Thanks monkeygod.  Album art not a big issue for me, so I'm not too bothered about that as a bug.

Album art least of my worries as well... as long as I can get 4-5 hours playing FLAC, and it sounds amazing... I'm a happy camper. I'm 90% that I'm grabbing this unit. Hopefully I love it and can sell my zx1...doubtful,but you never know.

Anyone know if there are any accessories out for this device yet? Does it have a spot to attach a lanyard? Really like that on my zx1.

you know, after listened to this again at local Jaben,

i've been thinking about choosing this or ZX1..
this players' sweet mids are haunting me in my dream hahaha

this type of sound signature would go soooo well with any IEM/CIEMs that sounds flat and boring.. it really brings out the musicality within them.. that's all in my ears, tho.

edit: spell check, grammars
