It was originally 3 ohms but they responded to criticism and reduced it.

A good thing else it would have had a similar story than the AK100.

Unbelievably, it didn't stop iRiver arrogantly pretending that the 22 ohm impedance was not a legitimate issue, and even when they finally relented, they only changed it to 3 ohm:

You will have to read the whole thread if you don't want to miss anything. As mentioned before, the original spec has 3 ohm output Z. They just later changed it after numerous arguments/feedback both on this thread and their FB page.

I still don't really understand the whole impedance thing, so forgive this stupid question...

Considering getting the Dunu 2000 when they're released - will the M drive those okay without amping?

Pretty sure it is being released for general sale in Korea on the 20th of April.

International release about two weeks later.

Hope the final look is the one with the door and not the wide open holes up top ;)

Thanks. I like the look of this player, I think I've narrowed it down now to this one, the sony zx1 or the dx90. Will be interesting to read the reviews. I think I can hold out awhile longer. :D

Interesting given I don't think either of the other two is even trying to be at this level.

Well the dx90 appeals because it's cheap and I could get away with buying it, and waiting a year or so until there's possibly more choice out there and then I can spend a bit more money. Personally I prefer android based daps. So that's why the zx1 and this dap are on my list. The calyx looks better specced though. But I'm far from being an expert, just want the best sound for my money.

FIIO are clearly developing something higher than the X5, that may be interesting
