$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage - Page 128

Are those screws on the bottom?  They stick out like a sore thumb on an otherwise clean design.  Hopefully they can make those flush.

Unless it makes the back panel easily user removable for replacing the battery.

The volts are tiny small.. but those are shiny... so looks a bit, but it really is nothing... and it will be changed to black.

How can Calyx prevent you from commenting on it? I don't understand.

If he is of general public, Calyx cannot stop him and it is unlikely a general public person unrelated to Calyx will know about the bug details anyway if it is of significant importance to Calyx. Unless he is a staff from Calyx, then it is a totally different issue.

Swear to God I got no relation to Calyx plus I'm a citizen who hav SS#

There is a worker of calyx in my group of DAP... I asked him and he told me its confidential.

I was stupid  even... saying that words... There was no mention about I can say this one or not... so I thoght it was OK to say.

I also hav my personal relationship with other members of the group(in order to get some more info)... It is my decision to follow wht they said to me.

Plus... The people of Calyx don't want me to compare the M w/ other DAPs... stand alone review will be OK.

Anyways... I recongnized Calyx M worth much more than a grand... Think It's a monster which will flip the whole market. You will see soon.

Well...  you don't wanna hear about it? I'm gonna talk about Calyx M alone though...

The main important point; Calyx wants to preserve their innovative design and make sure it's not going to be duplicated. They have spent most likely a fair amount of R&D to perfect, in their eyes, the design. I can certainly understand that.

It looks rugged, my only wish would be a somewhat smaller design but for desktop use it's definitely perfect, for portability it does look a tad too thick and long. I guess to shove it into a bag would work. What is interesting is the second mention of a cheaper model which I was told so it looks like maybe they realized that the above model would fit better as a desktop unit and the cheaper one as a true portable player. I am very curious as to what the cheaper model will have specs wise.

On the other hand, it's smaller than the galaxy phone. Tough to say much not having it in your hands.

Good to see you go to church brother.
What is the screen resolution and is it rgb or pentile? Can the battery be replaced by us?

Seems like you know about the architecture of Calyx a bit.... I've heard of the inside... it is not the average boards so people will meet difficulty modifying w/ op amp or so... Think of it as hugo+DAC(I like the sound of hugo though,) Someone of my group asked the question why It's so big and they answered it doesn't need one of those tuners or amps... After I heard the sound, I came to agree what they're saying in a way. The sound was flawless and big enough to use k812.

The company also said do not modify Calyx M because it is the best... I became curious about their confidence so I got to the meeting.

What they claim is it dosen't need extra amp or DAC, and by holding it w/ my hand, I could sense there are lack of empty space inside yet it isn't quite heavy.. Think they put lots of stuff in the DAP.

I've asked them the questions, I am in the field so for me it's curiosity that gets the better of me.

As copying, if you can open it up and you got smart people with oscilloscopes you can figure out anything and duplicate it, it's been done many times in the past so I understand them being cautious.

You have patents, copyright laws but for a small firm it's expensive to go to court to apprehend the offenders so it's in their best interest to keep the info as secret as they can up to the release of their products.

I was also told that they could not release the components (op amps) that were in there.

It sounds like the way you described it, it's densely packed with ICs, we might be looking at the best single chip Sabre design player.

I don't remember... the actual spec but their homepage shows the spec.

I didn't ask about the replacement of baterries but there were no opening as Apple's product....(solid as apple's product w/ very nice finishing)

IC... I'm not even close to that field...:)

Seemed very cautious though
