Interesting thoughts, different shapes is a common technique in order to physically locate the buttons quickly while concealed in your pocket, I like the idea as long as they keep the cool squared looking magnetic volume control. wink.gif

They have less space for the volume slider with the extra buttons. I believe that this is the reason for the smaller round volume button .

I would rather they increase the size by 3 mm thickness and provide additional battery and wifi for DLNA stream but that's me.  Guess for this price you can't ask for much more.  Still seems to be a great product if it ever becomes reality.  Hopefully they release early April as they advertised.  If delayed I will lose faith and just snatch an X5 for now.  I'm on pins and needles.

Ok newbie question.  I was told earlier this cannot pair with the Chord Hugo.  Ok, so my question is...., can this drive an easy to drive set of cans like the Fostex TH900's?  Has someone asked this already or is this thing only for IEMs?  This is a big deal cause I never use IEMs.

From Calyx M Facebook:

"Display of Calyx M It is HD-OLED and well-published. But they still want to know about the glass on it. Which is Gorilla . We are not kidding."

Power wise the Calyx will be more than enough. Can't speak for synergy which is important with the Fostex cans. I coukd easily run my pair off of an iPhone.

Spectacular! This is a class product. :-D

Me likey the Gorilla glass. It doesn't mean it will survive Thor's hammer Mjolnir but it is still better than regular ones.

I resist on my demand, we need a nice case. Something TPU would work for me honestly but I can understand when people ask for gel or leather cases.

Sir Mython, if they don't provide a case, we shall be looking for alternatives I think. I don't want to drop my 1k dap on the floor and see it is cracked or broken glass or damaged edges etc etc.

As a side note, I bought Galaxy S2 when it was released (one of the early buyers in Belgium I believe), it still lives and survived everything but it has its battle scars. Next time when I get a new smartphone, I am not using it without a case.

This is  wonderful specs !

I just hope the AMP will be powerful enough to drive high-End full size headphone such as Fostex TH-900, Audeze LCD-X & AlphaDog...

1,25 V rms @ 16 ohms seems to be on the low side ?

May be an external portable-amp will be needed to opttain the most from those Headphone ?

--> has someone tested the Calyx during audio show with some "serious" headphone ?

Can some one compare my hibino spec
To this amp.
The hibino drives most full size ok
But needs an amp to attain the most from them.

Of course the Calyx can drive those headphones, but... does it allow to attain the most from them (at least  from "low impedance" headphones ) ?

That is the question ! ;)

Hmm the amp is on the low side , and I don't think it can drive needy phones , maybe up to the level of LCD 2 tops?

If it can drive LCD-X, that would be awesome. It's a bit more sensitive than LCD 2

I ment by spec,s. , as we cannot do a sample as no one has the unit. I do not know what the amp on mine puts out.
