So I contacted them to ask them about updated specs on their Facebook and website. They replied right away and said they would update it soon. Yay! Maybe some updated pics will ensue.

Is it just me or this looks like an iphone 4S with a bigger screen...it doesn't matter to me since I don't like apple :)

No more alike the 4s than Sony's effort:

(yeah, I know - except for the bulge)

I'm not surprised Calyx went with round buttons, rather than the square buttons in my renderings:

I say this because round buttons are more easy to distinguish by touch, with your fingertips.

This appears to be a product that got thought out very well
By a few people
I am glad to see this. As this seems to be in the running
For a purchase.
I wonder if the NYC April meet will have one

I wonder if they have plans for a protective case for M?

Such valuable product shouldn't be unprotected. It is the way of nature, they might fall and things might happen (a classmate dropped her 2 weeks old Galaxy S4 on the floor: broken front glass).

AK240  DSD64 playback time 5 hours 40 minutes

Calyx M DSD64 playback time less?? :( Both DAP's share OLED screen one bigger then the other...we shall see..

I hope they do produce a nice case for it. It's a luxury DAP so they know that customers will happily purchase a luxury case for it, too (as long as it's fairly priced, unlike the handmade leather one for the NW-ZX1 which doesn't let you do a damn thing to control the DAP,  LOL!)

Still, in the meantime, ya can't blame me for trying to find a generic case:

How can you compare a price bloated product
To a slim priced product with all the amenities
And almost 1/3 of the price. Go complain
In the bloated thread. LOL
I could by two and break one and it still will be 500 usd less

(Please note that the newer released specs state that the DAP is now 2mm thinner)

There are a variety of cases for the ZX1 now including a nice TPU case that fits like a glove and has button exposure.

Actually I find the squared buttons and overall look more attractive. If they could go back to that layout, I would be very happy. I think it looks too blend and too iphonish with the round buttons.

The volume slider is definitively not looking as slick as the squared version with the + and -. I find the rounded version looks like an oversized microSD door.

Actually Mython,

I prefer the look in your renderings. It looks a bit classier and more befitting a high end DAP. Also i would have preferred the card slots to be on the bottom or left hand side.

Whatever, these are minor aesthetic quibbles. I will still be buying one if it sounds good.

The more i think about it though the more the slider bothers me. I am assuming it will have nice positive steps or indents to hold it in place once set.

If the calex peeps are reading use triangle and round , why so I can feel in my pocket up or down in volume. Just a thought.
