I guess apart from the uncovered sd/micro sd card slots, I am completely fine with the design.

Let's hope that volume slider won't explode our multi ba driver ciems and makes us deaf (Mythoooooooooooooon biggrin.gif ). I hope they built that thing good otherwise, I share Mython's worry on this subject.

Same here. Note that if you have only microSD cards, you can use one with the SD adaptor. I sure will fill the two slots.

The slider looks somewhat different than the original.

But still a 1/4¢ plastic is worth protecting a grand dap 's mem slot from dust and water/sweats(accidental),imho. Even a drop could bump out the msd cards if no plastic cover.

I think you are more likely to crack the screen than micro card damages and if the screen cracks, that's spelled catastrophe. A good case protector would be something I would value more and chances are they will be designed to protect the slots.

I think calyx M will come with gorilla or dragontrail glass for its price?......biggrin.gif

Now this is something that matters to me. I am expecting a glass screen.

(I had never heard of Dragontrail Glass before...  competitor to Gorilla... looks good.)

On my hibino the card is exposed. It only once popped out in my pocket . But I do think a dust cover like the AK120 has is better. . But that is me knit picking. I really do like this unit more each day.

It all depends how deep the card will stay in, with that could be the potential for difficult to eject cards if it is too much inside. Hard to get it just right; clearance and tolerance in manufacturing the body and the internal to fit in will matter.

The hibino just barely sticks out , just a pinch. But it is ok . I am glad they went with a full size slot . That really opens the door to loa rage drive storage. I think they have put real thought into this product. So whatever comes out did not go without thought. . That is the makings of a good product. And they also seem to be putting there product right out on the internet. They truly are smart at what they are doing. And by releasing the product to a market cheap IRS going to get many sales and many reviews for all of us. There marketing of this product seems very well put together. This product will be all over soon enough

I agree with you, we just have little worries here and there but the player is really attractive, specs are just right at least to me and I am so curious about this magnetic volume control, it'll be something to brag about. But at the end if Calyx has put all the labor and effort in building the player right sound wise first and esthetic wise second, it goes without saying it will be flying off the shelves.

Yeah, even some of the mid-tier cell phones (most successful in the market) did come with corning(3-4 years ago itself) so why not hi-end dap(2014 launch) with Full Touch-screen equip with a tuff glass? This aint too demanding by us but a MUST have for its price tag. Unique from other dap mfrs and to sustain in the dap market for some reasonable months until next model launch atleast.

Keep in mind the larger the screen the easier it is to break.  Can't beat physics.  I hope they have something to consider this.  I drop my phone constantly, my hands are partially made of butter.

We all have phones with large screens so i Do not think that it applies that way. I am very happy to have the large UGI.

Maybe the idea is that you adjust the volume to the level you desire, and then remove the magnetic slider so it can't be accidentally adjusted further. I hope it's not something that daft, but who knows what they were thinking when they insisted on having a slider on a pocket device.
