yea the w1000x needs some mods and new pads before it's going to wow any one

Not that I'm not a fan of closed headphone fan, but that I'm not a fan of leather/pleather pads, which the overwhelming majority of closed headphones use. Seeing some closed headphones use a different, undoubtedly more comfortable, and less sweat inducing material is always attractive to me.

Good point, although good quality leather isn't sweaty and all pleather sucks :/

+1 a HQ Leather is another story, i keep on my head for all the day, didn't ever sweat form it, and i live in Dubai!! which is known to be with a hot weather over all :P the house is big and the kids leave the door open letting that hot weather get in :<  yet the leather didn't make my ears sweaty even once.

Hmm, a bassy Shure. How often do we see that.

Already tried some quality leather pads, and they still induce sweat and make me hot. Nothing beats cloth pads.

Never heard their IEMs. I don't even like IEMs in the first place :p

Comfort is always top priority for me, and these look like they'd definitely be favorable over every other closed headphone for me.

I'm also wondering if those pads fit the 1840 with no problems, and if it does, would it maybe warm up the 1840's sound and add bass?

I prefered the on-ear Momentums over the originals in EVERY aspect including comfort, and sound (even though it has boomier bass and an even more congested upper-mids!). The over-ears I sold, the on-ears are at home waiting for me to use them... (I rotate through my headphones weekly usually ;-)).

The 1840s were comfortable enough, so I don't doubt these will as well.

Pads should fit, at least the leather 840 pads fit the 1840s and the dimensions on these look the same as the 1840s (and no, sound was not better on the 1840s with the leather pads... neither was the velour 940s on the 840s... ;-)).

There you go! LOL

So everywhere I checked seems to be "out of stock"... :(

Haven't written Moon-audio, but maybe the release date is later this year and they are not already available...

Is there a release date anywhere?

Not that we know of. I'm SHURE we can expect these to be release around the holidays.

Late November or early December... hopefully sooner

I'm sort of tempted to pre order them from Amazon (even if it says "out of stock")
