hisoundaudio RoCoo or Studio Firmware Update?

Hi there,

I'm a fan of my hisoundaudio RoCoo, and I'm about to pick up a used Studio V 3rd, so I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of a firmware update on either of these units.

I updated my firmware a while back using the excellent instructions here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/587884/hisound-studio-rocoo-firmware-files

However, I still have some issues with the player - the main one is that ever since updating I can't seem to access anything by ID3 tags.  I only have ID3v1 tags on my flac/mp3 files, but I always get 'No File' when I look in the 'Music' folder - I always have to go to 'Resource Manager'.  It's not a huge issue, but it's a little annoying to have lost that functionality and I thought it might have been fixed in a newer release.

I've done resets, I've deleted the system folder, and frankly I'm out of ideas.

Any help on this one?

Thanks.

I've always found the music, album, genre section to lag fairly badly and treat the player as a folder playing from resource manager only. If you're asking about an update for your problem, I highly doubt it will be corrected. The best you can do is try cleaning or adjusting your tags with mp3tag (free program) and work your tags around the player.

Thanks for your response on this!

I tried that already - removed ID3v2 tags and replaced them with ID3v1 using mp3tag - didn't make any difference.

I'm pretty sure I installed the wrong firmware (I'm actually running a Rocoo BA), but thankfully Mr.Hisound himself is sending me the original RoCoo BA firmware files - hopefully that'll help out.

The new firmware helped with a few things including startup time, but I'd prefer to search for my music using Artist, Album, Genre, etc.

I'll let you know how it goes.
