HELP! Need advice on the perfect audiophile portable music player

Hi everyone

I have just joined this forum to get some much needed advice on buying the right portable audio player. I have always appreciated quality sound but never had the cash to do anything about it. Right now I just use my iphone5 and sennheiser 80dollar headphones....but Now I have around 1000 dollars US to get a proper portable music player and I want mind blowing sound while on the move.. Up to now I've just used iPods which have never satisfied, the only time anything has ever sounded really clear is through my laptop with some basic sennheisers and thAt sounds amazing!! How do I achieve that quality of sound on the go?? The problem is that I want at least 100gb of memory (and even then it seems that's only enough for about 150 FLAC albums??), and also Bluetooth so I can play it through my Bose soundlink on occasion. If I bought say the colorfly c4 and just used simple mp3 files would it still sound much better than through an iPod?? The options I've seen are the c4, the dx 100 or the AK 100. S far it seems the AK 100 is the best as its Bluetooth and has two Sd card slots for 100gb of memory........but the c4 is so damn sexy.......any ideas???? Much appreciated

The players you are considering may be a bit overkill for use with $80 headphones, but if I were to choose one of the players you are considering i would get the AK-100. Have you ever considered a portable amp, they are much cheaper and should improve the sound quality from the iPhone or iPod a good amount. And as for your question on the mp3 files they might sound better but it all depends on the file.

Hope this helps
