Melbourne Head-fi users, unite!

Hey all, I've recently noticed there is a lot of people on these boards from Melbourne, Australia.

Unite here, to discuss gear, deals, availabilities, and for general Melbourne banter.

(I give it at least four posts before there is some kind of Myki bashing going on).

Welcome!

Myki bashing?

I've noticed that when you collect a bunch of Melbournians together online, eventually they start complaining about Myki. Prove me wrong!

First order of business: Anyone done business with Factory Sound before? They seem to charge a fair bit for their headphones for some reason, but they have some amazing gear in there. Great staff, too.

They sell the DT770 for $350 usually - they are on sale at the moment, however.

I actually like Myki. Is that wrong? redface.gif

Lotus, I've invited you to a group I created too. No one seems to use it though so maybe this thread is a better option.

Let's see how it pans out.

Myki is actually handy for me as well. I even have an app on my smartphone that tells me how much is left on it.. That's pretty handy. But everyone seems to hate it for some reason. I can see how it's counter-intuitive for tourists, I guess.

Does anywhere in Melbourne stock HifiMan products? I know the answer is probably "no", but even so, where do people get it from?

Headphonics is the nearest (Perth). I was chatting to Billy about it the other day, but not sure what's involved.

On a different topic, anyone up for another meet before the end of the year? Say mid-to-late November?

I'm up, but if that does happen, has to be before 23rd.

What about Gill, and the others that came to our other 2 meets?

Let's just see who's interested in general, but anyone is welcome.

Also, I'd be happy to arrange it again.

I'm keen!

Cool. I'll post a link over in the Melbourne Head-Fi'ers group and we'll see if we can get some more takers before we get into dates, location and what gear people can bring.

If anyone has a set of HE-400s, I'd love to hear them :)
