Do you know if the warranty is transferable? Thanks.

whoah, sorry to not get back to you. Your post wasn't showing in my list of updates. Yes, Schiit's warranty is transferrable!

MY BAD.  Sorry people. Schiit's warranty is non-transferable.

I was researching the good Canadian company Bryston around the same time. Co-incidentally they are right around the corner from me.... but I digress. Here is their warranty: http://bryston.com/pages/warranty.html

20 years and transferable.

I'll still include a copy of the bill of sale, since it was sold through an authorized distributor in Canada.

If you purchase in Canada, I could act on your behalf if a warranty claim were required (extremely unlikely). I can't possibly see a legal precedent to derail the following line of reasoning:

So to preserve this warranty we agree not to transfer it. The agreement could be to make this transaction a permanent loan. The item in question for the sum of cash listed above, where I specifically waive the right to request the item back after the transaction is successfully completed to both parties satisfaction. I also agree to proxy a warranty claim should it be required during the manufacturer's coverage period.

This is cockamamie idea is probably a stretch and likely to piss off the management.  Therefore, I reserve the right to rescind under threat of banishment. *grin*

On the other hand, no such trickery or proxy action may be required. It looks like Schiit tries to work with their customers as much as possible without the liable weight and legal implications of a transferable warranty in writing.

Chris,

It’s never been transferable—check the owner’s manual.

However, we do usually repair resold units within the warranty period at no more than shipping cost, provided the product is unmodified.
