Dunu hands down...

Better detail/resolution, more balanced sound signature, better control from upper mids to highs.

i have reviewed both so read both for a longer answer.

i realy like them both.  they are different and while the dn1000 are the better they cost more so its really more about which sound sig you think will work best for you.

cant really go wrong with either though, both great and great value.

Anybody had the possibility to try these?

Dunu vs Atrio?
Dunu vs Hisound Wooduo 2?

not heard the atrio but have the Wooduo 2 and given you mentioned those two i think your looking for mare bass than the DN-1000 offores.  its got substantial bass but the atrio is a famous bass monster and the wooduo2 has colossal bass.  i think maybe the 1000 isnt as bass heavy as you could be looking for.

Yeah, I'm looking for something similar to the Atrios (especially in the bass department), but without those harsh upper mids. So I guess I need to take a closer look at the Wooduo 2.

How does the DUNU DN-1000 compare to the Phonak PFE232 which is known to be on the bassy side?

I'm dipping my toes in the hybrid waters, and higher end iems for that matter...

I was debating whether to buy the dn-1000 or the gr07, but circumstances and the epic reviews on head fi helped me to figure this situation out.

Just copped a pair of dn-1000 for 130 shipped on eBay, and with the money I Saved buying these over the gr07 or paying msrp on them I got a pair of astrotec ax35. I'm really excited to see affordable prices for hybrids, and experience iems using the dynamic and ba technology in cohesion.

It's like the audiophilic sound version of the expendables (made me chuckle)

Thanks for the reviews to everyone who takes the time (and money) to give us a glimpse into what we are considering purchasing. It makes it much more fun and affordable to buy based on trusted reviews.

Cheers

I was only testing the waters and my first bid was something like $50 - I forgot about it after that and the next time I was able to check they were sold!  $130 shipped is very good.
