The soundstage was so wide - with percussion extending out of ear right and and left channels. I could hear the thump of the bass drum, yet it didn't obscure the upfront vocals. This hybrid keeps getting better! I'm still on the black/grey silicon tips with the red rings. I'm loving the DN-1000's sound. Nice job!

@ Mark, I listened via an iPhone 4. I seriously thought I heard it, but just needed some qualifications from someone who has had them for longer, as to whether that may be the case. That aside, as aforementioned, the review is spot on.

yeah iphones are a bit slowa nd warm if you ask me, plus it could be that your expecting BA quickness from the bass.  dynamics are always slower but for a dynamic i found the 1000 to be great given its big and heavy signature.

Is it a single BA or dual (TWFK)?

the DUAL TWFK. and a nicely tuned one!

If you own Gr07(any edition) what's ur take? DN-1000 or GR07? so far I have GR07 in mind as top notch IEM(allrounder) PtoP ratio. Again I was very confused going with MK1 or MKII as the cable (MKII)makes the SQ difference. I'm not a Baashead so BE,.... never thought upon.

Thanx man great review!!!  I just wonder if you like the Dunu better than the Tpeos H-200

Does anyone have experience with the Ibasso DX50 and the DN-1000? I have the DX50 and RE400 and the 400s sound great 95% percent of the time but become a little congested on busy or fast tracks.  Maybe this is just a characteristic of dynamic drivers or the synergy of equiptment, don't know but these sound intriguing. My first IEMs were atrios and I loved the bass even though they were a bit much with some bad live recordings.  I like a balanced deep and tight base. Anyone?

odd that you find the re400 congested, granted dynamics are normally rather slower than a BA its a particularly good dynamic.  are you sure its not the recording thats congested?

Its possible but the songs do play well on other head phones.  The tracks are from Nick Cave Dig Lazarus Dig!!! when there is lots of distortion and other instruments playing. And on a derrick trucks live album when Susans voice gets a little distorted.  Like I said it doesn't happen often so I will be keeping the re-400s.  Anyway already bought the DN-1000 but got it from ebay (bigbarginsonline) before realizing the official store in on amazon.  Don't know if they are selling the international version or not or if it really matters.

not familiar with it, could it be that its just so happening to be at a crossover point?  obviously the 400 doesnt have any so that could explain the difference?

I was describing how the re400 acts with different songs, sorry, a little off topic. Also, I notified the ebay seller that I wanted the international DN-1000 24 hours after purchase.  they said they could deliver but would have to call it back from the post office. Don't really know what i'll be getting although the ebay seller seems to be good.  I've heard that there are no physical differences between the test model and International model I wonder if DUNU could let us know if they did lease some International models to ebay sellers?
